Today, we're shipping a series of features that move uv beyond a pip alternative, and into an end-to-end solution for managing Python projects, command-line tools, single-file scripts, and even Python itself. A single, unified tool. Like Cargo, for Python. It's very fast.

I just open-sourced my first Django package: Cotton. Inspired by Vue, Svelte and Laravel Blade components, it brings component-based design to Django templates. Check it out! πŸ™ github.com/wrabit/django-cot…

Once again, I’m watching a discussion of ppl stipulating PyPA/Python core/Santa Claus to β€œjust pick ONE packaging workflow tool & go with it” & once again I have to remind everyone that the main problem isn’t a grand conspiracy of someone not wanting to pick & make you suffer,🧡

This! Design systems docs can be a balancing game: too verbose vs. too sparse. Inspired by the NYCTA Graphic Standards: give directions/info when it’s needed. Additional info can be sought without being in the way. Rather than fill space with extra words, focus on Clarity. πŸ˜‰ – at Alameda, CA
So often, design system documentation provides "no shit" definitions and descriptions for components. "A text field is an input field that users can type into." No shit?!

@jwildeboer @aallan : oh, the danger of machine intelligence isn't malignant machines, it's the use by people and concentration of power.

DjangoCon and other conferences like it were such an incredible value to me early in my career (and still are thereafter). If you’ve also benefited from the immense value of conferences and are in a position to do so, please join in making this opportunity possible for others! – at Brooklyn, NY
There's been so much movement in the donations to @djcafrica !! Thank you, bit we're not done yet. We set a very modest GoFundme goal while still having to cut very near and dear parts of the event. Every dollar counts! 2023.djangocon.africa/donate
