Your TCP handshake can give away which OS you run, whatever your User-Agent says. Joe Dye of @byteful takes #ExtractSummit2026 down to the packets. #WebScraping #Proxies

accidentally said 'probably bad' instead of 'directionally incorrect' and they kicked me out of sf
Very excited to be talking about this.
🌐 What if your server could choose how it looks on the network?
Joe Dye explores TCP/IP fingerprint spoofing, user-space networking, and how Rust powers high-performance systems serving thousands of requests per second.
Networking, but with a twist.

Very normal discourse.

The probability that there are *NOT* backdoors in Rust so that the "right side of history" people can destroy the evil right-wingers is precisely zero.
To them, everything is about "the struggle" - they will absolutely use their position to exercise power over their enemies

Maybe the most information dense book I've ever read.

Fable is not actually bumping you to Opus 4.8 bc you tripped a safety filter, but bc the AGI did a deep search into you before you even sent the prompt, and it determined you to be a member of the permanent underclass and it's just doing its job of keeping you there for eternity

if fable 5 agrees to do your work instead of downgrading you to opus, you’re in the permanent underclass
Can't wait to give my talk.

Dude my job isn’t moved overseas, you’re from the UK man. I can literally buy you.
Had our intern build this when we needed a comprehensive list but couldn't find one. He's done a pretty good job imo.

Not quite sure I belong given that the other guests are the creators of cURL, Tokio and Hyper but I'm happy to have been featured on the Netstack podcast.
The final 20 minutes about TCP/IP fingerprinting are particularly interesting, IMO.

Golang HTTP/2 is fucking dreadful. Running into issues at 6k requests per second, even with 40 threads only @ 50%.
Meanwhile, on the same server, at the same time, doing the same load, Rust's Hyper is chilling.
Staying late in the office to help fix Go code is not it.
Finished building a Dual Channel OPA Alice with a 34mm Takstar codenser in this gorgeous body. Sounds phenomenal.
Next up is a Neuman u87 clone.
Rust and Go is a goated combination. Rust for everything important and Go for the idiots who have to implement business logic on top of my Rust.
