Gun laws don’t work? Why hasn’t Australia had a school shooting since 2012? How about the UK which was 1996? Last I checked they don’t have armed teachers in every school or allow guns on campus. Pretty sure they also have bad guys and doors and mentally ill people too.

Nearly a million have suffered without heat & electricity because two utility companies put their profits above investing in the grid.
I’m calling on Consumers Energy and DTE to pay customers back for lost food and medicine and reimburse them for outage time.
RT if you agree.

While you freeze, DTE’s wallet is nice and hot on Wall Street.
Did I mention they spend millions on campaign contributions to your politicians?

Families w/ newborns, seniors w/ medical supplies, and poor folks w/ no refrigeration that are seeing medicine, breastmilk & food go bad after 3 nights w/o power.
Why? DTE’s corporate greed & failure to invest in our grid w/ the BILLIONS in profits they’ve made on our backs.

Now do how many are still without. 🙋🏻♀️ since 345 Wednesday and i’ll see is “95% by EOD Sunday.” I appreciate the workers out in the elements but the suits behind desks are failing at communicating and investing in infrastructure.

While many of us are out of power remember that last Friday DTE quietly filed a massive rate increase request. It’s actually the largest in state history at $622 million. Why do we have to always pay more while their shareholders rake in massive profits?

Seeing a lot of closed, no power signs and canceled, no power notices. Enough.
We deserve reliable, affordable public power.

As many across Michigan tonight are impacted by freezing temps and no power, remember that since 2010, DTE has raised rates by BILLIONS of dollars.

Nearly a million people in Michigan without power today. Storms swept the country, but Michigan took the brunt of power outages - again. Most of those without power are DTE Energy customers. A thread 🧵 1/

So in 21 hours no crews have been out to adjust restoration times in the app??!
Got it.
Yeah time for the state to take this utility back.

Right now DTE is proposing steep rate hikes. Given the lack of dependability, and how it threatens health and human welfare, the rate hikes are unconscionable. You can ask your state officials to take action secure.everyaction.com/Rjf7C…

This is a uniquely American problem. Too many of us scan rooms for exits when we enter them. We plan who that last text or call would go to. We should not, we cannot, accept living like this.

The collective grief, heartbreak & horror unfolding at Michigan State tonight is unfathomable. Holding the entire MSU community in my heart. This repetitive terror cannot continue. We must come together and do whatever it takes to protect our kids & communities from gun violence.

Huge leak from an insider @Wizards
It's what we feared: the higher ups despise us, the D&D community, and see us only as an "obstacle to their money".
Subs on D&D Beyond are all WotC care about, so I've cancelled mine. Let your voice be heard #opendnd #StopTheSub

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. We must remember that it did not start from gas chambers.
This hatred gradually developed from ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence.
It took time. #GenocidePreventionDay

Great work being done by Dr. Henry Liu and his team. In addition to working with @UMTRI, Liu is director of #Mcity, director of @UMichCCAT and professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Rock star! @UMengineering @UM_CEE
The Smart Intersections Project is working to increase transportation safety in Ann Arbor, including the most crash-prone intersection in Washtenaw County.

So we're hoping to not only just help this intersections, but we're hoping the findings will help other intersections and other roundabouts in the country as well."
