1) Today we're announcing Atomwell, our state-of-the-art foundation model for predicting experimental outcomes, alongside scaling laws for molecular discovery.
We trained models from 800M to 9B parameters on ~80M experimental measurements, and found clean scaling laws in both model size and data.

The heart breaking Texas flood is another example of a rain event, that statistically, happens once every 500-1000 years in this location. 15-20” of rain in 12-24 hours meets that threshold in this part of Texas.
This estimate is limited by our historical record. And these rare events happen in various localized places each year. It’s rare, but not uncommon in Texas to have these disastrous floods. 1/

Alibaba’s $BABA new CEO disagrees with US large tech’s insane R&D and CapEx spend.
If you’re read between the words, he is suggesting that much of those billions is wasted in an arms race which will most likely not deliver ROIs.
Instead of making the best possible model by spending ridiculous amounts of money, the focus should be on real world applications — solving the important issues and problems of humanity.
