Apple Music's 404 page has a 1st gen iPod emulator that's fully functional, a perfect Easter egg for the iPod's 25th anniversary.

Effective Immediately, all organizations using PHP for their systems are advised to be prepared for an update addressing two critical vulnerabilities. PHP is widely used for web applications. These vulnerabilities often provide a direct path to the server's file system or database. If an immediate update is not feasible, it is recommend that organizations take the system offline until it can be fully mitigated. NSA will follow up shortly with more specific guidance.
Sometime in 2024 during an executive offsite I promised the team we were going to get rid of our internal back office and replace it with off the shelf solution.. two years later Fable and I rebuilt it over night (give or take), added tons of new capabilities and now our business team build it on their own in Slack while engineers review and approve PRs. Pretty exciting tbh
Since the launch of Snappy API v3 I already built two apps on top of it:
Snappy Auctions lets you run auctions for your audience- either your teams or customers. We tested it internally to celebrate a milestone and our teams loved it.
Snappy Marketplace connector lets your AI agents- Muse, Dots, Claude and soon Instinct, browse our catalog, negotiate prices in real time with Snappy's own agent, and finalize a quote. Whether you're gifting someone else or treating yourself, your agent can handle the experience
Both are still in the workshop, but I'm super excited and hope to bring them to our customers next year.
What excites me most isn't the two apps I've built. It's the thousands of apps I haven't even thought of.
Opening up our Gifting and Marketplace APIs means developers can take gifting in directions we never imagined.
Can't wait to see what the world builds!
Snappy API is one of the most exciting things we've been working on since I started this company

We're entering a new era: Git as source control is becoming obsolete, too slow and inefficient for agents to work with. Cursor already launched their own in-house version of source control, now Anthropic and OpenAI is probably next.
New integrated agents already live in these spaces: bug detecting, security monitoring and PR approving agents drive the entire system and environment.
I wonder where Github will land in 12 months.
New on our Engineering blog: Creating in-house source control.
In May, we merged around 2,500 code changes per day. In September, we merged more than 30,000 per day. As a result, we became bottlenecked by developer infrastructure built for human (rather than agent) scale.
Here, we share how we built a new version control system—and fully migrated our monorepo from git—in five months: anthropic.com/engineering/re…

Funny thing: Ukraine takes out Russian data centers and “Zelensky” rises while “genocide” and “Free Palestine” drops off according to X’s Radar analytics page.
Anyone else seeing trends w/🇷🇺 bots muzzled?

This is why u do math.
Each coordinate of a closed outline has its own real Fourier series: x(t) = ∑ (aₖ cos kt + bₖ sin kt), and the same for y.
A cosine and sine of frequency k make one arm of length √(aₖ² + bₖ²) turning k times per lap. One chain sets x, one sets y, and the pen sits where their guides cross. With N harmonics per axis the knight is off by 30.2 % of its height at N = 1, 0.70 % at N = 50.
At N = 1 both coordinates are pure sinusoids: an ellipse.

using AI to solve millennium problems
We’re releasing a broad range of new mathematical results produced by an internal frontier model.
We’ve been consulting with the independent Advisory Group on Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence at the Institute for Advanced Study, and we have drawn on their advice and public recommendations to inform how we release these results.

for a long time i said that antisemitism, particularly on the american left, was not as bad as people claimed.
i'd like to just state that i was totally wrong.
i still don't understand it, really. or know what to do about it.
but it is so fucked.
Absolutely underrated
Mark Zuckerberg’s daughter told him she wanted to be like Taylor Swift.
His answer: “You can’t. That’s not available to you.”
He had taken August to a Swift concert. Afterwards, she told him she wanted to be like the singer when she grew up. Most parents would probably smile and encourage the dream. Zuckerberg gave her that answer instead.
In the interview below, he tells the story himself. And his daughter’s response is the part worth hearing.
August thought about it, then decided she wanted to grow up into someone other people would want to be like. Someone called August Chan Zuckerberg.
Her father’s reaction: “Hell yeah.”
Coming from Zuckerberg, that exchange is easy to admire and just as easy to question. There is ambition in wanting to become someone others look up to. There is also a lot of pressure in turning a child’s excitement after a concert into a conversation about becoming exceptional.
She went to see her favorite singer. She came home talking about making her own name.
Would you have answered your daughter the same way?
