May 1, 2020 will be remembered as the day that the government of Canada under Justin Trudeau killed one of the basic tenets of our justice system: the presumption of innocence.
This must be fought by every legal means.

Assault-style firearms designed for military use have no place in our communities. Thatโs why we banned 1,500 of them today. Get the details here: pm.gc.ca/en/news/news-releasโฆ

Sad that an engineer can't properly interpret statistics. You missed the part about of all the weapons that the RCMP could trace. There's a lot more that they can't, which infers a source OUTSIDE of Canada.

๐จ BREAKING: Looters are now BREAKING INTO HOMES in Paris โ and it was only a matter of time
Absolutely NOBODY is coming to help the Parisians either.
This is why you NEVER give up your guns. The government will NOT be there for you.

2.4 million licensed firearm owners.โจNot a problem. Not a threat. Not the issue.
Hunters. Competitors. Precision shooters. Action shooters. Shotgun athletes. Hand gunners. Long-range specialists.
Every discipline. One community that trains, gets licensed, and follows the law.
While politicians chase headlines and confiscation schemes, these are the people who actually show up โ responsible, regulated, and Canadian.
This is the real picture of firearm ownership in this country.

Just another soon to be liberal scandal added to the pile. Liberal friends get rich and Canada's military get 1980s fighter jets. Carney is a populist, but it's ok cause you like his brand of nationalism and populism.

I really don't care what anybody says, but the M16A2 is a piece of shit and a huge step back from the A1. The Canadian C7 rifle was the superior advancement over the A1. We got a shit rifle because the Army was so spiteful they wanted no parts of advancing the A1 and wanted to waste time and effort with the XM8. The Marines got put in charge of the product improved M16, which was a mistake with a ridiculous burst trigger, heavier barrel (in all the wrong places) and arguably worse and more complicated iron sights. There, I said it.

Another bogus claim by the @AP, @JimVertuno
"Few mass shootings in the U.S. end like the deadly attack on an Oregon elementary school: with an armed civilian opening fire on the gunman."

WRONG. The media won't cover them, but there are lots of mass public shootings stopped by legally armed citizens. crimeresearch.org/2023/06/ubโฆ

Thank God a man was armed (in violation of โgun freeโ zones) and stopped the suspect before he killed more people.
Who else is waiting for an anti-gun numpty to say that since the hero father who stopped the mass murderer in Oregon took a gun into a gun free zone, he wasnโt โlaw abidingโ?

To add... the "gun homicide" rate is, by no small factor, driven by criminals with no firearms license... yet the "Bans" targeted licensed owners.
We didn't need bans, we needed enforcement of existing laws.

Canada has taken the pedal to the metal on gun control in recent years, including even a handgun sales freeze among many other draconian restrictions. It's an Everytown/Giffords/Brady wet dream over there.
It has done nothing to help. In fact, 2025 was the first year to finally be lower in its overall homicide rate than the year Trudeau took office, but the US has seen an even steeper decline in homicide without adopting such restrictions. Moreover, Canada's gun-related homicide rate specifically is still slightly above 2015 levels, as of 2025. They basically gave up liberty for no gain in safety.
2015: (Trudeau takes office): about 1.71 homicides per 100,000 people (0.51 of which were gun-related homicides).
2020: (assault-style gun ban by order in council): 1.97 (0.74)
2022: (handgun sales freeze): 2.28, the peak (0.88)
2023: 1.99 (0.73)
2024: 1.93 (0.69)
2025: 1.61 (.53).

๐บ WATCH: @MelArnoldMP submits a petition calling on the Liberals to end their attack on licensed gun owners. This marks the 10th such petition since Mark Carney took office (March 14, 2025). Liberals continue to ignore their failed record and the voice of over 2.5M Canadians.
