Wind turbines are delaying rescues and putting mariners’ lives at risk. @mtkblb joined @77WABCradio's @JCats2013 to discuss last week’s medical emergency aboard a wind farm construction vessel, when turbines prevented the Coast Guard from flying in to help.

Federal student aid is intended to expand educational opportunities, not line the pockets of fraudsters who steal from students pursuing their education and hardworking taxpayers. The Trump Administration will not tolerate criminals who exploit government programs for personal gain. Treasury is working with financial institutions and law enforcement to identify these fraud schemes, recover stolen funds, and hold those responsible accountable.
Today, Treasury announced that @FinCENnews has identified approximately $270 million in suspicious financial activity potentially linked to fraud against federal student aid programs. FinCEN has referred these findings to federal investigators to pursue potential fraud schemes targeting federal student aid programs and help ensure those responsible are held accountable.
These referrals underscore the Trump Administration’s commitment to eliminating fraud, protecting taxpayers, and safeguarding the integrity of federal student aid programs.

"But it's Washington's Fault we are in an affordability crisis!"
No. It's because the state taxes us to the bitter end. And then taxes again.
Imagine what you could do if you could KEEP your money? Vote for candidates who want that.

3.6% unemployment sounds great until you read the rest of the report. RI has 11,000 fewer people employed than a year ago, 15,800 fewer in the labor force, and just 100 more private-sector jobs. Most of McKee’s “37,000 jobs” simply replaced jobs lost during COVID.

Surgeons make 650k a year and more. The millionaires tax will make them “pay their fair share.”
Until they leave. Think you can’t get healthcare NOW? Just wait. This terrifies me, they will be the first to leave.
The owners of our small manufacturing base probably make 650k a year. The MT will take their pay too.
But. They will relocate to a friendly state. The number of lost jobs will be staggering.
Construction titans. They support our labor unions. They keep us growing. And they make damn good money doing it. They're not going to stay if we squeeze the top salaries. Heck, those enterprise owners can easily go build in Tennessee or the Carolinas-- where labor is cheap and taxes low. The jobs that would be lost if we lose our construction? Suffer the thought.
I won’t go on. You get the picture. A millionaire tax is the NOOSE with which we strangle ourselves.
This policy is regressive. It is harmful. It will swing votes but cause pain. The millionaires tax will LOSE MILLIONS in a hundred thousand ways.
Call the coroner: it is economic suicide from a state already on life support.
We simply must be better, smarter than this. Let's build a better, more stable economy. One that rewards success and then enjoys the benefits of our own success.
After all; The starving man can eat his seeds to stave off starvation for a season-- or he can tighten his belt and plant a bumper crop for future abundance.
The choice is ours. Vote accordingly. VOTE for candidates who refuse the noose.

Governor McKee claims in the @projo today that truck tolls will bring in $40M/year.
This is completely wrong. They brought in at most $5.3M/yr.
Which is good news. Makes it easy to rescind this (boondoggle) program.
Should RI truck tolls be reactivated? Governor candidates all say no providencejournal.com/story/…
