So many things are changing in the tech landscape. I had a multi-year project I abandoned within the last month. It's not that it wasn't a good idea. It was. I believe the euphemism is "Overtaken By Events" It's simply not needed by the tech community the way it once was. Wow.

Software developers make easy scapegoats because people don't know or understand what we do. The move, in some circles, to eliminate developers entirely stems directly from that ignorance. They don't understand what we do, so they imagine it's easy (and easily replaced by AI). Wrong on both counts. It's not about the coding. We, of course, make matters worse by not going out of our way to be more visible and accessible.

A Good article on creating DSL's with #fsharp Computation Expressions sleepyfran.github.io/blog/po… To be fair, I am in general not fan of using CE's over regular function piping. However one great benefit is that, you can theoretically reuse the DSL code and make the Computation Expression abstracted and extended depending on the environment or module. Sort of Free Monads style or your own mini programming language in your app standing on the core logic. But I am not much favour them if they are only used for looking nice without offering any abstraction over static functions. What do you think?

Today we added our first line of F# code to our C# code base. Another F# dev just joined the team so we'll finally rewrite this beast. Can't wait!

I've been binge-watching @cmuratori's (paid) computerenhance.com/i/992187… and I recommend it to every programmer I know, regardless of experience level. I can't think of any other learning resource that is this outrageously useful and at the same time so approachable. Please try it!

Hi #fsharp I'm looking for a full time F# job but only in German companies because I'm still a Blue Card holder. I'm based in Berlin but don't mind to travel for few days every month to any other city in Germany.

...see the interconnections of different system parts. We were able to simplify a lot of code. Not just the F# code, but once we saw a simpler pattern in F#, we could also apply it in C# code. The "noise" in C# made it impossible to see the simpler solution. (2/2)

Our application started 8 years ago. First, the backend was all C#. 3 years ago, we switched to F# for new features. F# is much more concise than C#. The effect is that when code gets more concise, it's easier to overview more code, making it easier to ... (1/2) #fsharp #dotnet
