Frank Stallone playing the bartender.
Mickey Rourke was so convincing as Charles Bukowski in Barfly that when the writer died, the NY Post ran Rourke’s photo instead Barbet Schroeder threatened to cut off his own fingers with a battery-powered saw to save the film after Cannon threatened to pull the plug They blinked

What a shoutout for Naples Pizza and the hometown Farmington, CT!!! The OG spot.
Connecticut has pizza and UConn and I think that’s it (but they do have the best pizza in the world)

These kind of debate questions are just the worst. It’s a debate to help the voters (minus the 140k that have already voted) decide who should run a state. Not student council.
connecticut governor ned lamont just picked chinese communist zhou enlai for his "fantasy dinner" with any three people, dead or alive... of all the people, @GovNedLamont picked a communist you just can't make this stuff up!! @libsoftiktok @RNCResearch @CTGOP

The tone of the first two sentences here feels inappropriate.
Lynyrd Skynyrd’s plane crashed on this day in 1977! Killing frontman Ronnie Van Zant & Guitarist Steve Gaines! But they left us timeless music 🙏🏻

Still sickens me that ND wasn’t given a co-National Title. also. ND’s kicker was from my high school and BC’s kicker was from neighboring town.

Tom Petty would have turned 76 today. Here he is telling how he wrote “The Waiting.” He had the lick and the chorus fast, then got stuck for a week, playing it over and over until his neighbors banged on the wall yelling “don’t play that anymore!” Fitting, for a song about how the waiting is the hardest part. Happy birthday, Tom.

Aaron Sorkin's infamous Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip debuted 20 years ago this fall. I talked with a group of contemporary comedy writers about why the show didn't work, but also why they're still obsessed with it: whatsalanwatching.com/anatom…

Richard Riehle in Martin Scorsese’s 1995 mob classic “Casino” where he appears in one single scene as Charlie Clark, a banker who manages skimmed mob money and makes a mistake of dodging calls from short-tempered enforcer Nicky Santoro(Joe Pesci). RIP.

SWINGERS turns 30 today. Jon Favreau wrote the screenplay in 10 days, drawing on his own struggles as an actor in LA after a breakup. The film turned his real-life frustrations into the indie comedy that helped launch his & Vince Vaughn’s careers.

40 years since making The Color of Money. I had the privilege as a young artist, to have a general meeting with Paul Newman and separately with Martin Scorsese years before making this film, where they shared some of their wisdom on cinema. Of course, I’d seen their films, but prior to meeting them for the first time, I set up a personal study course where I would watch their films in sequence from the beginning of their careers, up until that point in time. After being cast in The Color of Money, I once again studied all of their films in sequence. Having studied their work, then being able to see firsthand these incredible artists, the towering legends of our field, at work on set, I was able to observe their practical application in every aspect of acting and filmmaking from their point of view. I will always be grateful for this opportunity and for the generosity that Newman and Scorsese showed me with their knowledge of cinema and insight throughout the entire process. To Marty, Paul, and the enormously talented cast and crew, it was a pleasure and an honor to be part of this film with you all! I have carried this experience and knowledge with me my entire career.
