Excited to announce our new study published in @AGA_CGH #palliativehepatology
Patients w/ cirrhosis highly value timely prognostic communication. Yet, 81% of the 218 pts in our study never discussed end-of-life care wishes with their hepatologist.

Patients who considered themselves terminally ill and those who expressed desire for more prognostic information had lower quality of life and higher symptom burden, anxiety, and depression -- No difference between those listed for transplant vs not listed.
Patients with cirrhosis want to discuss their prognosis and need more concurrent symptom management and psychological support.
