One of the things #breastcancer can affect is body image - which could further lead to #anxiety and #depression. #PalliativeCare will help with this also. getpalliativecare.org/how-pa…

On World Hospice and Palliative Care Day, I’m reminded what a privilege it is to care for people living with serious illness. Our strength is our interdisciplinary team. No one profession can do this alone. Together, we relieve suffering, honor what matters, and improve lives. 💜

CAPC's symptom management unit covers techniques for assessing and managing common sources of distress, including nausea, constipation, dyspnea, depression, and anxiety. Pain is a much-feared side effect of many serious illnesses, but is manageable with proper training. ow.ly/I5o030sXBlv

I donate it to support our next generation scholars, the next generation of leaders, our international scholars, and the Hospice and palliative care access fund, which supports our IDT team members to come to our conference. I donate to support our values. @AAHPM #hpm

I donate also to support advocacy AAHPM provides for our members and the field. No gift is too small. We are an organization of over 5,000 members. Just think how far. If we just donated $5, that could go. @AAHPM #hpm

An article published in the Journal of Palliative Medicine offers ten practical tips for palliative care clinicians on strengthening collaboration with consultation-liaison (CL) psychiatry across inpatient and outpatient settings. The two disciplines frequently care for the same patients—people with serious illness who also experience psychiatric and psychological complexity, neuropsychiatric syndromes, and difficult medical decisions—yet structured collaboration between them remains variable. Written by an interdisciplinary group of palliative care and CL psychiatry clinicians, the tips cover models of collaboration, shared biopsychosocial-spiritual formulation, care of people with serious mental illness, psychotropic management, diagnostic clarification, psychosocial and behavioral interventions, and collaboration around high-stakes medical decisions. ow.ly/pAjk50ZTJM2
