As we aim to build the next generation of clinicians, through a culture of excellence, these little notes remind us about what we signed up for and commit to doing daily and then get up again to do the next day and the next month and the next year.

The need to expand infrastructure at MakCHS has never been more evident. Today’s freshers orientation in Davies lecture theatre was jam packed - no breathing space. @Makerere @rkalyes1 @MakCHS_SOM @IDIMakerere

Yesterday, I had a chat with the MBChB qualifying graduates. We talked about their future and that despite what’s going on they should still dream big, look at what they’ll get out of internship and hate mediocrity. GoU, start them off well on a career they’ll enjoy.

My first entrance to Makerere was filled with self doubt until I met Prof Robert Kalyesubula @rkalyes1. The first interaction revealed that hard work, a teachable posture, resilience would earn me a spot somewhere. Today, I am among the top ten graduates in college!
