Thankful for this news as will lead to lower AI costs for business workflows. Happy Thanksgiving! 🇨🇦
Today we are announcing our biggest bet yet on our own silicon.
Starting next calendar year, we will scale our Maia family to multi-gigawatt deployments, making it the primary inference system for our own product and services.
And we’re introducing Maia 300, which delivers 40% more tokens per watt compared to leading GPU-based systems.
We are already deploying Maia 200 across the US, Europe, and Australia, delivering up to 1.7x more tokens per watt across experiences in Teams and Copilot.
Our goal is to build on the full-stack efficiency gains we’ve already seen, while continuing to bring the latest innovations from across the ecosystem into our fleet.

Microsoft just shipped one of the biggest updates for Windows 11, with a movable taskbar, Windows Search without Bing and Microsoft Store results, and the ability to customize the Start menu!
1. Taskbar: You can now move the taskbar to the top, right, or left side, similar to Windows 10.
You can also enable a smaller taskbar that shrinks the entire taskbar, not just the icons, as it did earlier on Windows 11.
2. You can now entirely disable Bing and Microsoft Store results in Windows Search, which makes it faster and more reliable.
3. You can now customize the Start menu, including the ability to fully remove the Recommended feed (now called Recent), and just have Pinned apps or the All apps list. It is now possible to choose which section appears and hide everything else.
Moreover, you can now make the Start menu smaller if you dislike how it dynamically adjusts.
This is one of the biggest Windows updates of the year, and it shows Microsoft is listening to top feedback. Keep it coming!
Hands on with the new experiences rolling out today: windowslatest.com/2026/08/27…

A question our clients are asking too about all the Copilot offerings.
🤔 Copilot, Cowork, Researcher, or Scout... when should you use each?
A key takeaway from Episode 80: Cowork shines when you're working across multiple systems and ready to turn ideas into action.

Microsoft’s Copilot Cowork adoption page is actually loaded.
Champion rollout.
Starter scenarios.
Prompt coaching.
Cost controls.
Feedback loops.
Most companies will turn Copilot Cowork on and hope people figure it out.
That won’t work.
If you want people delegating real work to Cowork, use the resources Microsoft already gave you.
- Surveys
- Email templates
- Prompt examples
- and more!

Very nice as a SharePoint refresh needs to happen regularly if possible.
✨ SharePoint has a fresh new look.
The visual refresh delivers a cleaner, more modern experience with improved readability, less visual clutter, and greater consistency across Microsoft 365, while preserving your branding.

Best thing Microsoft could do. Creativity, storytelling and graphic arts don't mix well with corporate longterm. All big studios have lost their way. Profit matters but all these orgs even console folks should have a natural mission to entertain purely the players as goal #1.

We are finally entering the reality that like all business tools AI will be measured on cost with actual budgets assigned as it's usage methods mature.
Satya Nadella openly saying AI tokenmaxxing is costly is a rare bit of honesty from the top of Microsoft. He even admits he does it himself and calls the habit addictive:
"I'm a tokenmaxxer too, it's addictive. But you have to step back when the novelty wears off to say, 'What is it that I'm trying to create?'" - Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella
It's not shocking, however, that the industry’s AI push comes with real financial weight and that usage patterns inside Microsoft mirror what customers are feeling too. 🔗windowscentral.com/artificia…
