I did but only because I started digging into the OKC ↔ LGA non-stop we have and learned about it then! It like baaaaarely gets to Oklahoma but I'm happy about it hahaha. Apparently the rule is also waived on Saturdays?

marketing is the thing everyone wants automated and the one thing nobody has cracked
the top ai labs still have people writing briefs, designers in figma, tons of editors and cracked videographers

You can tell clients "LLMs are probabilistic" until you're blue in the face, but I don't think most people fully appreciate how much of a mind bender it is for GTM teams who want to win AEO but don't live and breathe this stuff.
We all started our careers working with systems where the relationship between inputs and outputs was predictable, but LLMs are not. With LLMs, a brand might show up consistently one week and disappear the next, even if nothing meaningful has changed about the brand or its marketing. And trying to figure out why less drastic, more subtle changes happen is typically a mix of guesses and bias.
All this makes it difficult to distinguish between what's working, what's just noise — and when you are successful, what to double down on.
We've all been trained to look for patterns, establish benchmarks, build repeatable processes. so naturally, we're trying to force AEO into the same box, but it isn't going to work.
We need to get comfortable with the idea that we can't engineer certainty or predictability into AEO programs. That doesn't mean we stop measuring, testing, or trying to improve outcomes. However, I think we, as an industry, need to rethink what success looks like, the expectations we're trying to set, and how much confidence we should have in the conclusions we're drawing.

I have always equated search with the offensive line in football.
Doesn’t win games by itself. Not the flashiest discipline. But everyone wants to play behind a great o-line.
And good luck sustainably winning games without one.

Yep… takes LLMs forever to update titles, new company names after rebrands, etc.
This is where SEO/AEO gets fun though. It’s like online reputation management 2.0.
If you're re-positioning your company, LLMs won't know for a very long time. This is a big problem for marketing teams.
As an example, I just got a LI connection request saying they wanna follow me for CRO stuff. When I asked her who told her that I'm the CRO guy. The answer: ChatGPT.
I've been out of the CRO game since 2016.

Trust is built over time, and broken in an instant. Is your "scalable" AI strategy mortgaging trust for visibility?
I have had to accept my brand getting "less visibility" in GEO to maintain a standard, because we have just that ... standards. I'm not writing shortcut listicles on this brand.
Do we fall short of the standard, YUP bust at least we got one.
My bet is that that the short term tactics ain't worth the long term costs.
If you've been faithful for 99.9% of the minutes of your marriage, those unfaithful 5 minutes better have been worth it.
Be careful of producing content for "speed" based on semantic clues - cause you aren't tracking the counter measure of lost trust. So you'll never know if the speed is worth the potential trust hit.
