who else is heading to @techseoconnect? it's one of the better conferences imo since it's full of builders and the who's who of SEO/AEO from your TL
if you wanna go hit me up, have a couple passes to share!
inspired by @tomjohndesign and all the 3d builds i’m seeing on the TL so rebuilding my personal site.
so many things i wanna add, it’s kinda crazy how good the latest models are at this
little detail: the pour over on bar is pulled from what I’m actually drinking at home
unfortunately the new Jev context window is not big enough to decide "what should we do for dinner?" for couples
It’s January 2027
Every company has decided to just become a GTM harness now that coding has been solved and dIsTriBuTiOn is in style
if you're an engineer at Google plug this prompt into Argon for me:
"fix the God forsaken Google SSO auth flow once and for all. make no mistakes"

I did but only because I started digging into the OKC ↔ LGA non-stop we have and learned about it then! It like baaaaarely gets to Oklahoma but I'm happy about it hahaha. Apparently the rule is also waived on Saturdays?
highly recommend listening to project pat while reviewing agent work. really tunes your brain into spotting errors somehow
you’d be surprised how many companies spend 7 figures before anyone ever brings this up

marketing is the thing everyone wants automated and the one thing nobody has cracked
the top ai labs still have people writing briefs, designers in figma, tons of editors and cracked videographers
trying to explain the burning bridges AI video memes taking over the timeline to people who are not chronically online is proving quite difficult
not much home bar action this week since I was in DC / NYC and now back home.
Super motivated after meeting a bunch of other marketers from anthropic, vercel, render, and more.

You can tell clients "LLMs are probabilistic" until you're blue in the face, but I don't think most people fully appreciate how much of a mind bender it is for GTM teams who want to win AEO but don't live and breathe this stuff.
We all started our careers working with systems where the relationship between inputs and outputs was predictable, but LLMs are not. With LLMs, a brand might show up consistently one week and disappear the next, even if nothing meaningful has changed about the brand or its marketing. And trying to figure out why less drastic, more subtle changes happen is typically a mix of guesses and bias.
All this makes it difficult to distinguish between what's working, what's just noise — and when you are successful, what to double down on.
We've all been trained to look for patterns, establish benchmarks, build repeatable processes. so naturally, we're trying to force AEO into the same box, but it isn't going to work.
We need to get comfortable with the idea that we can't engineer certainty or predictability into AEO programs. That doesn't mean we stop measuring, testing, or trying to improve outcomes. However, I think we, as an industry, need to rethink what success looks like, the expectations we're trying to set, and how much confidence we should have in the conclusions we're drawing.
