I always find it funny when oscar fans use arguments like this to show that piastri should’ve been prioritised in ’25 after zandvoort. verstappen was more than 100 points adrift and piastri was primarily fighting norris for the wdc. why would mclaren prioritise either driver?

Enjoyed Christian Horner talking about needing to have a plan ready to prioritize 1 driver when in a title fight with other teams "McLaren very nearly lost that championship last year through the drivers taking taking points off each other. Perhaps they could have pushed Max harder in '24 if they'd have made that decision early on." Via @wearetherace podcast

it should’ve been a straight fight between lando and oscar for the title, but mclaren’s incompetence and piastri’s second half crumble brought max into the equation. had mclaren actually prioritised piastri, verstappen would’ve likely been a 5-time champion right now.
