For most of my life, the Nuggets have been brutal to root for — always rebuilding with just short spurts of fun. And now this. NBA Finals. With a two-time MVP, Jamal freaking Murray, AG, KCP, and MPJ. I love THIS team.

Somewhat unremarked upon is that Trump has made two era-defining foreign policy decisions — launching war with Iran and de facto aligning the U.S. with its decades-old enemy/adversary Russia (formerly the Soviet Union) — with NO consultation of the American people. Absolutely none. He literally reserved more TV time for the “election foreign-interference” crock than on two strategies that could perpetually undermine U.S. national and economic security. That's an election issue if there ever was one.
Trump’s despicable actions regarding Ukraine in recent weeks are more than a bankrupt betrayal; they risk undermining the global alliance structure that keeps America first in the world. My latest for @dcexaminer -

This may do numbers on Twitter but given that Acton's troubled childhood is probably known to Ohio voters (the court took custody away from her mother when she was 12) it might not resonate so well there

The pattern of the president's party performing poorly in midterms is very robust and almost certainly the most important anchor that any serious election analyst can have. It doesn't cleanly answer "can Democrats really win in Kansas?!" but it sets various floors and ceilings.

Imagine telling John Carreyrou (!) that he missed the point of a movie about Elizabeth Holmes. John might understand You Can See Everything more deeply than Nathan Fielder himself. Reading Bad Blood is borderline essential for audiences wrestling with their own interpretations.
A few readers have taken me to task for “missing the point of the film,” which is apparently that Elizabeth Holmes is unknowable and everything is ambiguous. Here’s my response: She went after Tyler Shultz and Erika Cheung with everything she had. I was threatened with litigation on a daily basis for months on end. It was a ruthless cover-up of a breathtaking fraud, and she was at the controls. Just a little context for those who have forgotten or didn’t follow the original story. By the way, I loved the film. #BestPicture, IMO.

It actually does make you less of a Democrat.
You are choosing a MAGA Senator who will vote to confirm the next right wing Supreme Court justice that strips away the rights of millions & enable Trump for the final two years of his term & block the next Dem president’s agenda.
For me, the only dignified choice is to leave the Senate race blank—an undervote representing a rejection of ideological absolutism. This makes me no less a Democrat. I refuse to be complicit in excusing or accepting extremism to beat extremism. The madness has to stop somewhere.

What is it about the GOP that they have to infantilize men to excuse their dick-stepping? Tommy Teepell is in his mid-20s and has had a senior job working for @HawleyMO.
Are you saying Hawley hires children?
Abdul continues to hide who he is as he beats up a young kid.
His faith isn’t the issue. His ideas are.
He wrote an oped urging Americans to support the Muslim Brotherhood if they took over Egypt. After they took over, he publicly called for the MB to purge the police and the media of those who oppose the MB. That’s right - purge.
He calls Israel “bloodthirsty”. Who talks like that?
When a Hezbollah inspired terrorist in tried to blow up a synagogue in Michigan, Abdul justified it by explaining, “hurt people hurt people.” The terrorist’s brother was a Hezbollah commander in Lebanon who had been killed by Israel.
Abdul’s mother was a MB member, his sister supported the 10/7 Hamas massacre of Jews and the Obama Administration put Abdul’s sister in law on the terrorist watch list.
Alone among American candidates, the Muslim Brotherhood issued a statement celebrating Abdul’s win in the D primary.
I don’t know what Abdul is. But I know he’s a risk America can’t afford.

In all seriousness, how does it help El-Sayed to win the election to spread paranoid persecution fantasies rather than note that he is actively supported by Obama, Slotkin, Whitmer, Schumer, Stevens, McMorrow, etc and if you like all those people you should vote for him?

This is an insane thing to do.
Alito will retire soon and the MI race could determine control of the Senate.
If Republicans have control, Trump will replace Alito with a young conservative, locking up the seat for decades.
Put on your big boy pants and quit this bullshit.
Detroit News: Former Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party is leading an effort to make sure Democrats leave their ballot blank for the US Senate race in Michigan.
Lon Johnson, the former chair, supported Rep. Haley Stephens over El-Sayed in the August Democratic primary.

So would getting rid of the golf course, which I have played for 25 years, including yesterday. It is a fun, affordable course.
There are currently 36 holes, including two 9-hole courses that are perfect for teaching kids to play.
Trump is going to replace that with a (presumably much more expensive) 18-hole course that will take much longer than 15 months to make.
The course is in an amazing location but it has never been in amazing shape and I’d love for someone invest some money in it.
But the renovation should be consistent with its current role of making golf accessible. There are plenty of courses in the DC area that are already capable of hosting pro tournaments.

The Boomers who bought their homes for magic beans and now want to raise taxes on everyone else to pay for their social security while also not wanting to pay property taxes for their palatial estates should all be tossed in a volcano. One last luxury cruise for them.
“I’m old. I’ve paid my home off,” said Ray Warner, a 72-year-old Akron resident. “Why would I pay property tax?”
Across the country, homeowners are asking the same question and revolting against property taxes at a scale not seen in a half century.

You wrote a law giving Trump the unrestricted power to waive sanctions, and of course he used that power to serve his own interests. The irresponsible party here is Congress.
Beyond irresponsible. What part of enforcing a law passed 86-11 by the Senate does the President and his advisors not understand? It’s unconscionable that this administration is capitulating to a Russian dictator who illegally invaded Ukraine and butchers innocent civilians every single day. If the President wants to actually bring down energy prices, he can do it by solving the Iran problem, not by doing a solid for Vladimir Putin.

It’s “new” insofar as it’s an escalation of behavior that people with eyes to see could tell you is a logical progression. Considering how terrible your judgement has been, perhaps you should refrain from calling the people who were right hysterical and just admit you were wrong.
