Prof Peter Fonagy said there had been a "very real" rise in "distress & mental ill health among young people". He also notes how conditions such as anxiety & depression can "worsen the traits of ADHD and autism" but says Wes Streeting was completely wrong about over diagnosis.

🔥🔥🔥This is one hell of an essay.🔥🔥🔥
"Here is the problem: not one man in that fraternity reported what was happening to a woman being drugged and raped down the hall. Not one. That is “not all men”—in practice. Male violence does not survive without male silence."
This is an article for men. Women already know this.
A few months ago I wrote an article titled “Women are not safe around men” and I got 100s of messages from angry men chewing me out.
This week a woman filed a civil suit against 7 men at Cornell University for drugging, trafficking, and raping her. Zero have faced any criminal charges. Men throughout the societal ladder are complicit. Women are not safe around men. And the data is devastating.

NEW: It was a digital lynching. And the media is never going to hold itself to account for the role it played in Jason Arday’s death.
But there are things we can do. This is a practical guide based on my own experience.

This demonstrates neatly that the academic community *does not need AI to hallucinate*, if there are strong incentives to do so (e.g., via funding or hype)

This has been in my experience a bigger problem than fake citations.
We published 2 papers testing widespread (hyped) assumptions with empirical data, found that they don't really hold up.
They both get cited to support the hyped assumption, which persists.

I did not see this coming - the hantavirus outbreak shining a light on just how widespread medical misogyny remains in this day and age.
Hysteria is still commonplace; it has merely changed name.
Potentially fatal consequences is also not a rarity in this abominable culture.
"A French woman who tested positive for hantavirus after she was evacuated from a cruise ship reported symptoms to doctors onboard but was told it was probably just anxiety, the Spanish health minister has said."
Or course.
