The games industry is always changing. New technology arrives, platforms shift, audiences move, studios open and close, and the way we make, discover and support games continues to evolve.
For indie developers, that can sometimes make the road feel uncertain. But uncertainty has always been part of creating something new.
Every project teaches you something. The games that worked, the ones that struggled, the ideas you abandoned, the mistakes you made and the people you met along the way all become part of what you take into the next project.
Learn from the past. Pay attention to the present. Build for the future.
Success does not always arrive with the first game, the second game or even the fifth. Sometimes progress is simply becoming a better developer, making stronger decisions, understanding your audience more clearly or finding the right people to work with.
Indie games exist because people keep experimenting, keep learning and keep creating when there is no guarantee of what comes next.
So keep making things. Keep improving. Keep asking questions. Support other developers when you can, and don't allow somebody else's path through this industry to define your own.
The future of games isn't already written.
We're all helping to create it. Keep moving forwards!

There is a familiar pattern in the games industry whenever a title suddenly catches fire. One game breaks through, dominates the conversation and begins pulling in enormous numbers, and almost overnight everyone wants a piece of it.
Creators who had barely mentioned the game before are suddenly producing guides, reactions, streams, news stories and endless opinion pieces. Websites reshape their coverage around it. Social feeds become saturated. Even those with little genuine interest in the game pile in, because attention brings views / clicks, with advertising revenue, and nobody wants to miss their slice of the revenue cake.
There is nothing inherently wrong with covering what audiences are interested in. That is part of publishing. But there is a noticeable difference between responding to genuine audience demand and chasing a trend simply because it is commercially lucrative.
The result is an industry that can sometimes feel less like a collection of people supporting games and more like a feeding frenzy. One title becomes the centre of the ecosystem, everyone crowds around it while the money is flowing, and countless other games struggle for visibility in the shadow it creates.
Then, inevitably, the audience moves on. The coverage moves with them, and the same people who could not stop talking about yesterday's trend are suddenly chasing tomorrow's.
It is the games industry's version of a gold rush: not everyone digging is particularly interested in the gold itself; many are simply there because everyone else has been told there is money in the ground.

My #gamescom cut short. Our equipment was stolen last night from the booth.
Police reports have been filed.
At a loss for words to describe the feeling. Just defeated. Gonna do my best with what's left of the week.
But a huge blow financially and mentally
