This would have been pretty fun, I should have stuck with it.
This is what I have done so far for my game. What do you think? (ignore the art, its placeholders😆) #indiedev #gamedev

Just finished placing pickable items in spots like this one, away from the road, should you decide to explore on foot. Not many truck game devs can say that.

Unfortunately, it seems a lot of developers had their stuff stolen from them at Gamescom. If this has happened to someone, try to support them however you can. Money might be tight for some of you, but it's free to follow developers and share their games. #indiedev #gamedev
We were robbed at Gamescom. On Wednesday, we arrived at our booth in the Indie Area to find our cabinet forced open. Two laptops and a Steam Deck were gone. The devices contained not only our Gamescom demo, but also personal, company, and critical information. Here’s our story

Read please. He is talking about the locusts.⬇️
There is a familiar pattern in the games industry whenever a title suddenly catches fire. One game breaks through, dominates the conversation and begins pulling in enormous numbers, and almost overnight everyone wants a piece of it. Creators who had barely mentioned the game before are suddenly producing guides, reactions, streams, news stories and endless opinion pieces. Websites reshape their coverage around it. Social feeds become saturated. Even those with little genuine interest in the game pile in, because attention brings views / clicks, with advertising revenue, and nobody wants to miss their slice of the revenue cake. There is nothing inherently wrong with covering what audiences are interested in. That is part of publishing. But there is a noticeable difference between responding to genuine audience demand and chasing a trend simply because it is commercially lucrative. The result is an industry that can sometimes feel less like a collection of people supporting games and more like a feeding frenzy. One title becomes the centre of the ecosystem, everyone crowds around it while the money is flowing, and countless other games struggle for visibility in the shadow it creates. Then, inevitably, the audience moves on. The coverage moves with them, and the same people who could not stop talking about yesterday's trend are suddenly chasing tomorrow's. It is the games industry's version of a gold rush: not everyone digging is particularly interested in the gold itself; many are simply there because everyone else has been told there is money in the ground.

The Bible collection grows too large for the end table, time for a bookshelf! Please read the Bible. The truth is printed there for He IS the truth. Toss out those modern textbooks that do nothing but teach you to become a consumer... a locust. Learn to live.✝️

So, Tailgate demo launched a week ago. All things considered I’d call it a quiet success! Some figures: 1. +600 wishlists 2. 175 players 3. 13 reviews with 92% positive rating. 4. Generally warm reception. A good motivation to continue working and making improvements (but a quick bug fix for the demo first!). #indie #indigames #demo #dog #Tailgate

To clarify, the struggle is to understand and relate, not a financial or mental struggle. Apologizes for that not being clear. Games and people have changed a lot over the past 5 years and we can't continue on the same path. Below I will point out two things and then elaborate on the rest in longer posts over the next few weeks. First, the comment about money. When I started this, there was a handful of us running communities that helped people with their games for free. Now, there are hundreds, but not all the new communities are like the old, some are just locusts here to feed on the harvest before they head off to a new industry to feed. Games are just something to profit off of for them. And to clarify that comment, you can do this and make money, just be honest and fair. We have all seen people boast about numbers that are completely fabricated. Look into who you work with carefully so you make sure you are doing business with good people. Second, the comment about thanks. I feel its unhealthy for a person and a society when they aren't grateful. Gratitude actually shifts your brain to a better place and helps with stress and negative thoughts. It's simply good for you to be grateful. This sort of scratches the surface of what I am struggling with but hopefully it gives some idea of what I mean. Things are just different now and I am trying to decide the new path forward for the community and how I fit into that. Thank you to everyone for the comments and feedback. I have a better idea of what to do now. ❤️ I'll end this by shouting out @igdmag. He has been doing this for 14 years and has been a huge help for both indie developers and myself. He has some amazing projects coming up that I think you will find useful and fun.
I've been promoting games for free the past 5 years and here is what I have to show for it: 🔸$0.00 🔸occasional thanks I do it because I love games and game development and wanted to help developers like myself who struggled. Now I'm struggling to keep doing this.

An incremental endless idle mining indie game set in the depths of Mount Olympus. You are Constantine, breaking rocks and chasing rare crystals as your only path to uncovering the mountain’s secrets. 🔸 Mine rocks, collect Lefkadium crystals, and unlock powerful upgrades, automation, and talent trees to grow your production. 🔸 Perform Deep Descents to sacrifice progress for permanent multipliers, then stack them across dozens of runs. 🔸 Harness Relics of the 12 Gods of Olympus, Echoes, Ore Veins, the Drill, Resonance Field, and more for explosive idle growth. What do you think of Echoes of the Deep : Incremental Endless Miner? ⬇️ #indiegame #indiedev
