excited this is out! I explore the state's role in making land available for privatized development, how tensions between (il)legitimate property claims are fought through evidence, & how competing land claims are recognized & resolved by the state/court. tandfonline.com/eprint/HSRQ8…

Thrilled to announce our new SAGE Handbook of Qualitative Research in Sport & Physical Culture is now available for pre-order; 37 chapters on the politics, philosophies, practices, and sites of inquiry by contributors from more than a dozen countries. Table of Contents can be found at the link below, along with a detailed description. Chapters explore a range of traditional and emerging topics and methodologies, from feminist inquiry and Indigenous methodologies to new materialism and political ecologies, from interviewing and ethnography to arts-based methods and participatory research, and from qualitative research developments in Asia and the Middle East to studies with fan communities and Olympic and Paralympic athletes. Questions of reflexivity, positionality, grant funding, audit culture, and co-production are also examined. We are incredibly proud to see this collection come to press, and so appreciative of all our contributors for making this Handbook a reality! us.sagepub.com/en-us/nam/the…

Foremost it was a chance to meet peers struggling with similar questions and puzzles. I can’t overstate the need for more such horizontal spaces of encounter and liberatory scholarship and how we need to expand them and enable them as undercommons.

Dr. Dev retweeted
Still amused/bored by constant admonitions to "stop wasting your parents' money" and "go back to class." You go to university to learn about the world and how to act in it - which is what these young people are doing - not merely to pay for a diploma.
Imagine treating university students like children because they are standing firm in protest against atrocities that major world institutions and the vast majority of nations have also condemned.
