🚨 BREAKING: JANTAR MANTAR NO LONGER A DESIGNATED PROTEST SITE
Delhi Police has de-notified Jantar Mantar as an official protest venue, following recommendations from a committee constituted by the Union Home Ministry.
📍 Three new designated protest sites:
• Ramlila Ground – Central Delhi
• Burari Ground – North Delhi
• CBD Ground – Shahdara, East Delhi
The order was issued on October 11, 2026, and announced on October 12.
⚖️ Jantar Mantar has been a historic centre of public demonstrations. The decision raises an important question: will relocating protests ensure public order while preserving citizens’ ability to make their voices heard near the seat of power?
The right to peaceful protest and reasonable regulation must go hand in hand.
What is your view? Is this a practical administrative decision or a setback for public demonstrations?

An NRI came to Chennai and stayed for three days in his ancestral home, which had been locked and opened only during family visits.
We cleaned the house and made everything ready. About an hour before his arrival, we switched on the AC in his bedroom so he could walk into a comfortable space.
When he arrived and I handed over the keys, I mentioned that the AC was already running. He quickly said it wasn’t needed and that he could manage with just the fan.
Later, his wife called us from the US to thank us. She even mentioned how thoughtful it was to switch on the AC in advance, as it had made him comfortable the moment he entered.
That moment said a lot. It seemed he had told her a completely different story about life here — that everything is messy and unlivable, and that they are better off never returning to India.
At that moment, @svembu’s call came to mind — urging NRIs to return and help build India.
Maybe the real question is not whether India is worth coming back to, but whether we are ready to see it as it truly is.
Indians have made a major contribution to America's technological prowess. Yet, a big part of America no longer wants us.
Indians who are on a visa in the US face the painful prospect of uprooting the life you have built with hard work.
Let this be the birth pains of a bold new future.
Come back, let's build India 🙏

Happy to see BJP handles now tweeting: “Those who want Starlink can get out of India and live in any of the 160+ countries where Starlink is available.”
