People who praise Matiang’i for the 2016 KCSE results should think! Matiang’i presided over one of the most unnatural grade distributions ever witnessed in Kenya. It never made sense that, out of over 500,000 candidates, only 141 managed to score an A (Plain), a mere 0.02%! How bad was the syllabus, or how flawed was the examination system, that such a huge proportion of candidates performed so poorly? How do you explain the fact that roughly 64% scored D+ and below? 🤔
