Received a lovely message about ‘Good to Talk’ Short Film that won at @IndieCork last week. Hi Baz, I hope you don't mind me messaging you, but I couldn't resist sharing my thoughts after watching 'Good to Talk' at the Indie Cork festival. Your performance truly left a profound impact on me, and I felt compelled to express my gratitude. The authenticity of your acting in the film was remarkable, especially in addressing the difficulty of discussing mental health, a subject often overlooked, particularly concerning men. Your portrayal resonated deeply, and I found myself moved to tears, having lost my brother to suicide. Your performance brought out the raw emotions and struggles associated with such a delicate topic. I must commend the clever casting choice in selecting you. Your tattoos and appearance might not align with the typical portrayal of vulnerability, but it's a testament to your acting that you convincingly brought forth the complexities of your character. It was a bold choice, and it worked beautifully. The film's potential impact on suicide prevention charities is undeniable. 'Good to Talk' sheds light on the importance of open conversations surrounding mental health, making it a valuable resource for organizations dedicated to preventing suicide. The script was masterfully crafted, and the unexpected twist added an extra layer of depth to the narrative. Congratulations on winning the award—it's well-deserved. I haven't encountered a short film that has left such a lasting impression on me, and I genuinely believe it has the power to resonate with a wide audience. I hope 'Good to Talk' continues to make waves, sparking important conversations about mental health. Thanks to @jsbroekhuizen for the wonderful script and all the crew at @deepRedIreland
