Our latest research dives into the potential mechanism of #MDMA induced hyponatremia and identifies #oxytocin as potential key factor. Good news: fluid restriction migitates the risk!
In this secondary analysis of 4 randomized clinical trials, a high incidence of acute hyponatremia was seen in response to MDMA, which may be mitigated by fluid restriction. ja.ma/3UURnsZ

New paper published in @JAMAPsych: A meta-analysis of adverse events in trials of classic psychedelics suggests an overall favorable safety profile. However, serious adverse events, while rare, did occur. It highlights ways to improve the detection and reporting of adverse events and calls for urgent improvements.
