Three years ago, innocent lives were brutally taken in the October 7 terrorist attack in Israel, leaving families and communities forever changed. Nevada honors their memory by standing against antisemitism, protecting our Jewish communities, and rejecting hatred in every form.

End of Watch: Police Officer Charleston Hartfield October 1, 2017 Today, we honor the life and heroism of Officer Charleston Vernon Hartfield. Officer Hartfield joined the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department on January 18, 2006. He spent nearly a decade in Patrol before transferring to the Project Management and Video Bureau, where he played a key role in creating a memorial wall at the Southeast Area Command to honor fallen officers. He was also the author of a book sharing his experiences as a police officer. In addition to his police service, Hartfield was a U.S. Army combat veteran with 16 years of military service. He served in Iraq in 2003, with the 82nd Airborne Division and, at the time of his passing, was a First Sergeant with the Nevada Army National Guard's 100th Quartermaster Company. On October 1, 2017, while off duty at the Route 91 Harvest Festival with his wife, Hartfield acted selflessly to help others during the mass shooting. He was shot and killed while rescuing fellow concertgoers. He was 34 years old. His legacy lives on through his family, his fellow officers, and all those he inspired.

Nine years later, we remember the 58 innocent lives lost on October 1 and stand with their families and every survivor. We honor them and the first responders who ran toward danger that night. Their courage and service embody Vegas Strong - always showing up for one another.

Glad to join the @HCC_Nevada for Pinot & Politics and discuss how we’re keeping Nevada open for business. We’ve worked to improve our business climate, diversify our economy, and create more than 100,000 jobs. There’s more work ahead, and I appreciated the chance to speak directly to the business leaders helping to grow Nevada’s economy.

This is K9 Valor. He saved 47 soldiers. He survived a suicide bomber, then went on to stop three more, fighting tooth against knife. In the end, he placed himself between an explosion and his handler. The blast shattered half his face. He lost his left eye and ear. He was flown to Germany, where surgeons worked to rebuild his jaw. At the Pentagon, he was honored with a standing ovation that lasted over eight minutes. A true American hero🇺🇸

This story of K9 Valor is a fabricated hoax with no supporting U.S. military records. No dog has received the Congressional Medal of Honor and official reports on the 2021 Kabul bombing describe no such events or injuries. snopes.com/fact-check/k9-… cmohs.org/recipients/pag… defense.gov/News/News-Stor…

I’m proud of the record job growth we’ve seen in Nevada. We’ve created over 100,000 jobs, cut 900 regulations, stopped tax hikes, and defended the right to work. That’s the pro-growth agenda we’ve delivered. Meanwhile, Aaron Ford’s $18 billion California-style agenda would stick Nevada families with an estimated $14,000 bill and take our state backward.

Today we opened the new Desert Regional Center, providing a modern facility for Nevadans with intellectual and developmental disabilities to call home. This project was delivered on time, under budget, and built to a standard that the residents and their caretakers deserve.

After spending more than 420 days out of state, Aaron Ford is once again jet-setting anywhere but Nevada. Today he’s in New York City fundraising with Letitia James, prioritizing New York donors over Nevadans. Ford can always find time for another flight and another fundraiser. Nevadans deserve a leader who shows up and puts Nevada first.
