Leaving MAGA was one of the most difficult decisions of my life. I allowed myself to believe, and act upon, Trump's and the GOP's lies. Furthermore, the prospects of walking away from a community and second family begot a personal tumult and turmoil; it took me a year to finally leave MAGA.
I implore everyone to show grace to any Trump voter who expresses remorse, and is willing to make amends for past actions and rhetoric that may have hurt others.

I actively care for patients every day.
I would never claim to be qualified to serve as Surgeon General. But her consideration for such a role is a striking reality of how this administration continues to devalue real expertise in favor of hype, media presence and wellness branding. Credentials matter. Experience matters. Our patients deserve better.
