#JavaScript tip for today: `some` & `every` are one of the most underutilized array methods. So don't just `filter` everything. Recognize when what you are asking is a "yes/no" question and often these will be the methods you need for a more elegant solution.

Time for my second Twitch stream, it's more serverless framework with JS and hopefully pushing useful data to @logzio for me to use later. buff.ly/2UvbopR

foolproof strategy for becoming a beloved engineer within your company 1. join an internal tools team 2. ask people what internal tools they wish they had 3. build them 4. "hey you asked for this a few weeks ago and I wanted to let you know it works now!"

I was sent this photo by someone in hopes I might be able to shed some light on the story behind it but I have no idea. I appears to show two submarines moored outside the Arnolfini. Does anyone have any idea what was going on or when this photo was taken?

Here's the live request flow on a large subset of the 1500+ microservices on the @MakingMonzo Platform. A lot of things are involved in running a bank! If you used the @monzo app at around 3pm today, you might be represented😃

It's bittersweet: I'm leaving @dropbox, and am now retired. I've learned a lot during my time as an engineer here -- e.g. type annotations came from this experience -- and I'll miss working here. blog.dropbox.com/topics/comp…

#Python 3.8 news: The multiprocessing module now uses spawn() instead of fork() to avoid forking limitations on macOS. Accordingly, pool.map() and its variants should only be applied to functions defined in other modules (not __main__) so they can be pickled.

Work is changing. Used to be cool: Big offices, perks, working hard, big teams, VC backing, "changing the world." Is cool now: Remote work, working normal hours, working smart, lean teams, getting to profitability quickly, making a meaningful difference in your industry. 🤷‍♂️
