SURPRISE VISIT EXPOSES ONGOING CRISIS AT OLIEVENHOUTBOSCH SAPS: 30 DETECTIVES, THREE CHAIRS, ONE COMPUTER. FOUR MONTHS LATER, STILL NO PROGRESS. This is what detectives at Olievenhoutbosch Police Station are expected to work with while investigating serious crimes. I made a surprise return visit to the station in Gauteng this morning, four months after my previous oversight visit in June. Almost nothing has changed. Not a single meaningful infrastructure improvement. The station is still operating from completely inadequate premises. Officers are working in cramped conditions, with temporary structures and even a trailer being used as office space. No holding cells. The generator is still out of service, leaving the station vulnerable to power failures, particularly when cables are stolen. The detectives’ working conditions are particularly concerning: * approximately 30 detectives. * Only three chairs and one computer reported in the detective office. * No official telephones. * No Wi-Fi. * members using their personal cellphones to communicate with complainants and follow up on investigations. * Only a hand full operational vehicles for 30 detectives. The one positive operational improvement is that both station trucks are now working again. That is welcome, but there has been no meaningful improvement to the station’s infrastructure. What struck me most, however, was the attitude of the police officers. I have visited many police stations across Gauteng. Despite having more reason than most to be frustrated, the personnel at Olievenhoutbosch show a level of commitment and resilience that stands out. They continue doing their jobs. They continue serving their community. And they deserve far better support from SAPS management. How can we expect detectives to investigate serious crimes effectively when they do not even have the basic equipment to do their work? We cannot keep visiting the same police stations, documenting the same failures and accepting the same excuses while nothing changes. The officers deserve better. The community of Olievenhoutbosch deserves better. IC

Wait, I thought it was communism? Or socialism? Or Marxism? In 2020 it was woke ideology…pick a bogeyman.

This video needs to go viral. It is so true in every way. Trump is controlled by Vladimir Putin. He clearly puts Russia before America. @ProjectLincoln

To say this marks the end of an era doesn’t even cut it. @amanpour has been synonymous with CNN & with top-tier international reporting for decades. I grew up admiring her, pinched myself every time I got to share a screen with her & have been grateful on so many occasions for the platform her show offered for in-depth, international coverage. Will miss her dearly at CNN. But bravo on 43 extraordinary years. We should all be so lucky edition.cnn.com/2026/10/19/m…

A horrific Russian strike in the Kharkiv region. A “shahed” struck people directly – in a park near an ordinary café. Pure atrocity. Six people were killed, including children. A little girl was killed in a stroller – her name was Angelina, she was just over a year old, born in August 2025… Her mother’s name was Inna. She died in the hospital… Another girl who was killed was 11 years old. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Another 14 people were injured, including six more children. I am grateful to everyone who supports Ukraine under these circumstances and helps us shoot down “shaheds,” shoot down missiles, and stop Russian assaults. These are horrific photos, but behind them are shattered lives and the truth about this war. Lives must be protected. Ukraine needs air defense. You can't think about making money with Russia as long as it continues its asinine war. We ask that sanctions on Russia stay in place as long as the killings continue. We ask America to be strong, and we ask it to apply the Lindsey Graham law. We ask Europe to continue its support. We ask that everything possible be done to bring peace and guarantee security. Ukraine wants peace. It is Russia that has insisted on continuing the killing all this time. The world has enough strength to stop the war. That strength must finally be used – against the murderers.

Wow, you @HillaryClinton had it spot on. So it either this Pedophile @realDonaldTrump is a Russian Agent or Putin has something serious on him - no American President has ever behaved this way.
Ten years ago today. In just the last few days: Trump made a deal for the U.S. to buy Russian diesel, an economic lifeline for Putin; he and Elon Musk blamed each other for an order that slowed down Starlink satellite connectivity over Ukraine, hampering the country's defenses during a devastating Russian attack; and Trump waived sanctions on Russia that Congress, led by his late friend Lindsey Graham, had pushed for. Now, Putin has proposed a summit with Trump and Xi to decide Ukraine’s fate for them, bulldoze a century of international cooperation, and frame Russia as an equal to the U.S. and China. We’ll see if Putin’s puppet continues to dance on his strings.

McGowan: "I'm so sick of this. Honestly, the only reason we're talking about Hasan Piker is because he's on the left. We've had controversial right-wing commentators for years. We had Rush Limbaugh ringing a bell every time a gay person died of AIDS. We have Nick Fuentes having dinner at Mar-a-Lago after saying, 'Your body, my choice.' We have these right-wing Christian fundamentalists saying women shouldn't vote and that we're just vessels. They're all on the right, and we're not asking every Republican candidate and every current officeholder whether they agree with them or whether they should disavow them." Rothman: "I'm old enough to remember when every Republican in Congress was asked to respond to what Rush Limbaugh said." McGowan: "He received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from the president we have now, so please stop."
