As someone who speaks a 2nd language at about the same level of fluency as Zelensky’s English, it surprises me that no one has referenced this in their analysis of the oval office row. Nuance, dexterity and manners are very hard to achieve 2 against 1 in a foreign language

Tonight we're at @StPhilipsW8 celebrating the clergy who completed Launchpad TEN! 🥳 After hearing from @Youthscape about the positive long-term impact of the course on churches where clergy completed earlier courses, we're hearing from those who've just completed it.

Spending a quiet, free evening catching up on the recording of the recent @CofeDeacons national online conference with @PeteWilcox1564 and many others in conversation about diaconal ministry, oversight, leadership. So helpful and rich with new ideas! Thank you all!

I've been thinking about the reason that Sir Keir put forward for the assisted dying debate: "I made a promise to Esther Rantzen before the election that we would provide time for a debate and a vote on assisted dying." This is not the same as: 1. We think it is in the public interest to have this debate. 2. We have done the appropriate legislative planning for how this could possibly work. 3. We are convinced that our palliative care system is properly resourced so that people have the right support they need. 4. We are convinced all the right safeguards are in place to permanently protect the vulnerable. This is too important a topic to be rushed through.
"I made a promise to Esther Rantzen before the election that we would provide time for a debate and a vote on assisted dying," Keir Starmer says "I'm very pleased" that I'm able to "make good" on that promise, the prime minister adds bbc.in/3ZRTjWd

“I understand that a strong woman standing up to you is met with such reticence,” replies Jess Phillips to a group of men intimidating after her win. Jess then tells of how a young woman delivering leaflets yesterday was filmed and screamed at by an older man, who then slashed her tyres. Huge respect to Jess.

If you're at or want to go to Uni, or are the parent of someone who does, even in 5 or 10 years, this is a must listen. Student loans are misnamed, misframed and misunderstood. Make sure you understand how it really works. And pls share with anyone it's relevant to.

Ok, so it's been reported Keir Starmer, if he becomes PM, wants to clock off at 6pm to spend time with his kids. The thing is, that's not what he said. (He only wants to ringfence Friday evening and he accepts that time might get disturbed). Herewith the verbatim transcript:
