Hot off the press! Our new review, “Locoregional therapies for intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma: a stage-stratified, biology-informed multidisciplinary framework,” is now published in Chinese Clinical Oncology. Jonathan Tefera and I review the evolving role of locoregional therapies in the management of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (iCCA), including future liver remnant augmentation, ablation, TACE, TARE, hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy, and SBRT. Importantly, we discuss how these therapies can be integrated with surgery and modern systemic therapies across the disease continuum. As treatment options for iCCA continue to expand, multidisciplinary patient selection and appropriate sequencing of locoregional and systemic therapies will become increasingly important. As the Interventional Oncology Section Editor, I am pleased to share our latest review, “Role of Interventional Oncology in the Management of Neuroendocrine Tumors: 2026 Update,” by Daniel DePietro and @michaelsoulen. The management of neuroendocrine tumor liver metastases continues to evolve, with liver-directed therapies playing an important role as systemic treatment options expand. This timely review examines recent advances in embolization, radioembolization, and ablation, as well as treatment sequencing, novel technologies, and the emerging role of biopsy and molecular profiling. An important theme is the increasingly integrated role of interventional oncology within multidisciplinary NET care, not simply as an isolated treatment, but as part of a longitudinal treatment strategy. This program will bring together patients, families, members of the community, and experts from across our multidisciplinary liver cancer team to discuss surveillance and early detection, liver-directed therapies, transplantation, emerging treatments and clinical trials, and survivorship. I will be speaking about integrating liver-directed therapies into multidisciplinary liver cancer care and will also moderate a discussion focused on collaborating with our patients to improve care. Can we predict how well a liver will regenerate before liver venous embolization? Pleased to share our latest work from the Yale Interventional Oncology Research Lab, now published in the @JVIRmedia entitled “CT Radiomics to Predict Regenerative Biomarker Expression after Liver Venous Embolization: Proof-of-Concept in a Porcine Model.” We evaluated liver regeneration following venous embolization in both healthy and cirrhotic livers and asked whether baseline CT radiomics could provide insight into the underlying biologic regenerative response. Combined portal and hepatic vein embolization (PVE + HVE) produced greater angiogenic activity than PVE alone. Importantly, baseline CT radiomics showed promise for predicting regenerative biomarker expression, with the strongest performance for Ki-67 (AUC 0.84). This is proof-of-concept work, but I believe the direction is important: moving beyond measuring liver growth after embolization toward predicting regenerative potential before treatment. I can’t believe my time on the @TheOfficialARRT Board of Trustees has come to an end. The past eight years truly flew by. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve on the Board alongside such a dedicated group of people. With more than 370,000 credentialed professionals, the work of ARRT is incredibly important. Throughout my time on the Board, I gained an even greater appreciation for the role ARRT plays in establishing professional standards, promoting quality and safety, and ultimately serving patients and the public. I am very proud of what we accomplished together and thankful to have had the opportunity to contribute. I am also grateful for the many colleagues and friendships that came from my time on the Board. Thank you to everyone at ARRT and to my fellow Trustees!

I am looking forward to participating in the upcoming @SIO_Central Resident and Medical Student Section (RMSS) Journal Club on liver venous deprivation (LVD). We'll review the evolution of hepatic augmentation strategies, the rationale and technical approach behind combined portal and hepatic vein embolization (PVE/HVE), and the clinical evidence supporting liver venous deprivation, including the DRAGON-1 study. We'll also discuss the design and rationale of the ongoing DRAGON-2 trial, as well as the role of LVD in optimizing the future liver remnant before major hepatic resection.
