Front line power still runs on diesel generators and pressurized hydrogen tanks. Both are logistics liabilities. Omer Hiram, co-founder of IonFlux, is building around that. His system generates hydrogen and electricity directly in the field using solid aluminum fuel pods and water. No external power source, no gas transport, just aluminum reacting with water on demand. New episode of The CET Brief. I sat down with David Sherer, co-founder of SpherePoint. Everyone points to China's drone light shows as proof swarm tech has arrived. His take: that's theater, not autonomy. SpherePoint repurposes off-the-shelf automotive radar chips into tactical transponders, letting drones talk peer to peer and hold formation under jamming. No central controller needed. The company didn't start out building for swarms. It began as a friendly fire prevention solution. This week in Berlin, Israel opened a national pavilion at ILA with 15 Israeli companies, the heads of Israel's defense industries, and a SIBAT -led opening ceremony. @ElbitSystemsLtd announced a strategic partnership with @DiehlDefence to offer SkyStriker loitering munitions to the @Bundeswehr, including local manufacturing in Germany. Next week in Paris, France has banned Israel from a national pavilion at @cogeseurosatory and restricted Israeli companies to defensive systems only, and even those had significant limitations. Same continent. Same week. Two completely different answers to the same question. Germany understands what France is pretending not to: Israeli systems are the only ones on the market validated in a multi-front war against a state-level adversary. Over 500 ballistic missiles and 2,000 drones intercepted in 67 days during Operation Epic Fury. Iranian-origin technology that is already appearing in European skies. Combat data no European prime can match, because no European prime has had to perform. And when Europe tries to boycott anyway, the technology comes in through the back door. Spain declared a total disconnection from Israeli technology last year, then quietly ordered the same Spike missile through EuroSpike, a German-Italian consortium that Rafael owns 20% of. Madrid didn't disconnect. It just paid more for it through a German address. I wrote about this in The Jerusalem Post. The boycott isn't strategy. It's theater, performed by a customer base that depends on the very supplier it claims to reject. Berlin gets it. The question is how long Paris can afford not to. jpost.com/defense-and-tech/a…

Excited to share this @Jerusalem_Post piece on the evolving Israel-U.S. defense-tech relationship. It was interesting to be interviewed alongside Nic Adams, whose experience on the U.S. side offered an Inside perspective. What struck me most during our conversation was just how differently the two ecosystems turn urgent need into deployed capability: one driven by existential immediacy and rapid iteration, the other by scale, process, and long-term procurement cycles. Seeing those contrasting innovation rhythms side-by-side was genuinely eye-opening – and a reminder that speed and structure both have their superpowers. A special thank you to Jessica Walton for the thoughtful interview. Her probing questions forced us to step back to a 30,000-foot view and reflect deeply on the world we’re living in and the human stakes behind every line of code and piece of hardware. Curious to hear from others in the ecosystem: which lessons from Israel’s “deploy-or-die” approach do you think the U.S. (and others) should adopt – and vice versa? jpost.com/defense-and-tech/a…

Massive congrats to @Sentrycs on the $225M acquisition by @OndasHoldings! 🎉 Israeli counter-UAS tech meets US wireless and drone expertise—a powerhouse combo. Another big win for Israeli tech in the US market; America clearly sees the value!

What a week in D.C. hosting the CET Forum Last week we brought 20 leading Israeli defense-tech startups to Washington for three packed days of meetings, pitches, and panels with over 100 key players from across the U.S. Defense Industrial Base — including government agencies, major primes, and investors. Things kicked off at Lockheed Martin’s Vision Center, where the startups presented directly to their senior innovation team. The response was incredibly positive — real respect for the level of technical maturity and operational relevance these startups are already showing on the battlefield. The main forum included fireside chats with leaders from across the defense world, live startup demos, and panel discussions with top execs from primes, VCs, and federal offices. We had some amazing sessions — including former Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment Ellen Lord talking procurement reform (moderated by Linda Lourie), a deep dive with Northrop Grumman’s newly named CTO Greg Simer and VP Corp. Dev. and Technology Bruce Stephenson, and sharp insights from David Rader Senior Advisor at the Office of Secretary of War and involved with OSD/DIU/DARPA . All this took place in the penthouse offices of Michael Best & Friedrich LLP thanks to our host Erik Berdy, overlooking the Potomac — complete with a Blue Angels flyby. On day three, we ran a hands-on design thinking session with officers from the 52nd Fighter Wing, 82nd Airborne Division, U.S. Army, and 101st Airborne Division, U.S. Army — each sharing real mission needs straight from the field. Startups responded in real time with ways their tech could solve those problems. Huge thanks to everyone who joined us. If you weren’t there this time — keep an eye out. We’re just getting started. A Special thanks to CET Sandbox Co-Founder and CEO Scott Cohen who put this all together, and the entire CET group team including Israel Y. Ganot, Neil Wallack, Barry Mannis, David Rokach, Shmaya Avieli and Ethan Roberts for helping make this event not just happen, but run like clockwork and a huge success!

In Late October we're bringing 20 Mature CET technologies focused on Autonomy, C-UAX and Communications to D.C. to Meet with members of the @DeptofWar and @DIU_x. Thee are mostly battle tested, and highly relevant to DHS activity. Would be great to have @DHSgov join us. @Sec_Noem, @DepSec_Edgar, @KristiNoem Feel free to DM me for details and an invite.
I met with industry leaders at CBP’s Unmanned Technology Operations Center to discuss how we’re using cutting-edge drone technology to stay ahead of evolving threats. We’re in the middle of a weapons-technology revolution— and our enemies know it. Drones are now being used to smuggle deadly drugs, target our infrastructure, and spy on U.S. defenses. We must be ready. As Secretary of Homeland Security, I’m committed to giving our frontline teams the tools they need to protect this country— now and for generations to come

Big congrats to @PalmerLuckey, Matthew Steckman, Shane Arnott, & @AndurilTech team for redefining defense! From self-funded Soldier Borne Mission Command to a $1.1B Aussie Ghost Shark deal & major US Army/Navy contracts, they’re proof startups can hit prime status. This signals a bold shift in gov’t tech sourcing. At @CetSandbox , we’re fueling CET startups to follow this path—from concept to global contracts. Anduril’s rise shows it’s not just possible, it’s happening. Ready to scale?

Yesterday @POTUS signed an executive order establishing " @DeptofWar" as a secondary name for the Department of Defense, marking an initial step toward rebranding. This could be an indicator of where the US is heading.

The 2025 National Security Scorecard reveals troubling gaps in the U.S. defense industrial base. 🔹 Aviation & Maritime spending is down 🔹 Munitions, Missile Defense, & Nuclear capabilities are up 🔹 77% of Navy funds went to just 10 vendors 🔹 Nearly 50% of parts carry supply chain risk To compete with peer adversaries, the U.S. must reconnect procurement with battlefield realities.
