largely agree, cannot unsee it @far33d @clairevo for suggestions, I'd bucket your ideas into two streams: 'transformation' - how can you get your legacy business on competitive footing 'innovation' - have a two pizza team with no red tape build anew from first principles

Amazing, congrats on this huge milestone - also with a very lean team. Excited for what's to come!
Lovable just crossed $100M ARR in 8 months. Faster than OpenAI, Cursor, Wiz, and every other software company in history. Today we're launching a game-changing update, it reduces the error rates by 91%. Introducing Lovable Agent:

Do not buy anything from X user maylene027. Don’t know if a solo actor or working with others, but they requested payment Venmo @gaines519azd and never sent what we paid for xitter.cf/maylene027/status/1837…

Instead of trying to build an audience... Build an association with a specific word or idea. • James Clear: Habits • Brené Brown: Vulnerability • Codie Sanchez: Boring businesses • David Perell: Personal Monopoly • Wes Kao: Spiky Point Of View When you are associated with a specific word, phrase, idea, or movement, that connection spreads. As it spreads, it gets stronger. That association is what actually builds the audience – and a very targeted audience at that.

.@jonnym1ller, this exact tweet quoting Marc A just triggered me in a similar way to start drafting: The Potential (and Problem) With Infinitely Patient, Knowledgeable, Helpful AI Tutors (insert role here: Therapists, Friends, Lovers, etc.). Excited to 👂🏼 @dthorson & Zak unpack

The creative possibilities and collabs that it also unlocks 🔓 from people who otherwise wouldn't have access, an incredible example courtesy of @mr20syl, h/t @mkbhd, rt @justcallmetroy youtube.com/watch?v=y7r6PAkF… 🤯 #notjayz

Incredibly excited to see the next chapter (pun very much intended) from @jwdanner and Viv, leveraging AI to build an engaging reading and learning experience for students.

Not surprising given @duolingo's approach to building edtech (nibnalin.me/dust-nib/duoling…), that they're one of the first in market (@edwin_bodge) with an AI-powered personalized feedback tool. Might subscribe just to play with it and see how it works 🧐📱🧪
Excited we can *finally* announce the latest and greatest way to learn a language: Duolingo Max My team has shipped at an insane pace to bring Max to life in just a few months. We've had early access to GPT-4 and worked extremely closely with @OpenAI.

Agree @johnnyrodgersis, this piece from @craigmod is incredible. As someone who recently became a dad, I'm just beginning and already starting the magic and profundity of the journey noted here.
So many profound insights in the latest from @craigmod on Archetypes: the people who raise us and surround us and shape us and let us know what's possible. Highly recommended soul-nourishing, humanity-awakening reading. craigmod.com/roden/075/

And, even parents who try--speaking from my own experience & those of other Chinese, Asian, immigrant or otherwise well-intentioned and loving parents--can still whiff on building self worth and create traumas / blindspots / biases that can take years to undo

If you're a #parent to be, or still parenting fairly young ones (say 4 and under), this thread of insights + wisdom is full of gems 💎 cc @shaanmasala @p_millerd @fortelabs @aliml @MrTrudeau @ElaBenUr @komorama. I'm deeply grateful: @mbateman, h/t @ThusSprachSpach

Zvi, probably one of the best public intellectuals during the time of Covid, wrote up some interesting commentary on my VaccinateCA piece (and the initiative): thezvi.substack.com/p/key-mo…

This is a good thread from @saranormous (prior @GreylockVC now launched AI fund @w_conviction). Interesting to see if there will be large foundational models, or if the continued decrease in costs to train and (IMHO) companies' proprietary data leads to model proliferation
1/ EOY prediction time! 2023 will be the year of racing to incorporate AI in products, but most companies' first instinct (shallow integration of generic models available through limitied APIs) is only table stakes. The race is now on to:

Instruction tuning / RLHF is technically a Human Instrumentality Project, merging the preferences of countless humans to form an oversized, living amalgam of our will. We then hand control of it to a random, socially awkward kid and hope for the best.

This piece from @stratechery & @benthompson captured my recent feelings about AI, #ChatGPT edu. Rather than focus on keeping it out/potential plAIgarism, how might we imagine use cases, UI/UX that drive learning/growth? I increasingly think you do it going direct to students...
AI Homework The first obvious casualty of large language models is homework: the real training for everyone, though, and the best way to leverage AI, will be in verifying and editing information. stratechery.com/2022/ai-home…

All the more so because (US) education systems are currently overburdened by the impact of covid and teacher/talent exodus, and likely can only react (out of self defense) by trying to control this top down and 'assimilate' and 'neutralize' it: xitter.cf/davidthefu/status/1599…
What becomes intriguing IMHO is US education systems do not work this way, Seymour Papert called this out 30 years ago & in my exp still true. They will try to defend the castle-moat 1st, and later begrudgingly assimilate it.

I think this retweet is a better encapsulation of what I was trying to say 😬😅😉: xitter.cf/davidthefu/status/1599…

POV: You're a Senior Data Engineer at Twitter. Elon asks what you've done this week. You've done nothing. Frantically, you open ChatGPT.
