Seeing a lot of ESPN/SEC talk lately. If the SEC is so dominant, why did the national championships stop coming as soon as the playoff expanded and the rest of college football started paying players too?

Meanwhile, the committee is FAR lower than this computer avg on Notre Dame, Ohio State (context there, obv), Wake Forest and, naturally, the G6. Wouldn't be the CFP committee if they didn't dump on G6 teams for choosing to have light schedules and not join power conferences.

The ESPN has mentioned that the Committee may be factoring in Julian Sayin’s injury in Ohio State’s ranking. This is by far the stupidest thing the CFP does and the rule should be amended. There’s no other sport that considers player injuries to keep teams out of the postseason and it’s terrible for player safety.

I grew up when lying was wrong, profanity was bad and doing your best even if you disagreed was admired and respected. I understand time changes, but I'm sticking with my beliefs.

Here are my (almost) complete thoughts on the college football landscape and actual implementations that can help bring it back to what we once loved. #CollegeFootball #capitalism #SaveCollegeFootball

Turning CFB into a minor pro league has weakened communities' ties to the players and programs; asking for a commitment on Halloween is too much. It'll be interesting to watch Thanksgiving games for the same pattern.
I am beginning to think College Football has a bit of an attendance problem brewing. Look at the thread below to see the crowds yesterday at Oklahoma, Penn State, UCLA, TCU, Maryland, SDSU, and FSU. 🤯 What is the main cause? Unrealistic expectations? Economy? Apathy? Halloween? 🧵👇🏼

Even more reasons to stop watching the SEC and BIG. Most of the schools SDSU wanted to associate with are already in the B12 and ACC.

Not sure what year this was, but I suspect this photo was taken at a time when every FBS football program was afforded an opportunity to succeed, and not just the 20 programs ESPN and Fox Sports would like to package and sell.
This wasnt all that long ago you know...

It's a slow burn but you see signs. -Empty stadiums for ranked teams & decent matchups -Ratings peaking for a couple big games but overall viewership is down 11% this September Fan sentiment is souring & signs of impact are there. "Gradually, then suddenly" -Ernest Hemingway
“They’re going to prostitute college football out for every penny until nobody cares anymore” Best summary I’ve heard.

Cheat-code strategy. We also make it uncomfortable at the concession stand for our visiting fans with $20 burgers and $18 Coors Lite. They're left defeated and miserable before the game even starts. 🤣

Some programs fill their stadium to intimidate visiting teams. Not in San Diego, we make it weird and awkward with that dead energy.
San Diego State is 9-1 in its last ten home games at Snapdragon Stadium.

The way to do this is announce it before the season and target fans of the group so they buy some tickets to the game. Also, bring back the Sky Show for the exact same reason! @jdwicker @goaztecs

For the American vs. Pac-12 folks TV deals American: ~$83M/yr from ESPN through 2031-32 (~$6–10M per full-share school). Pac-12: CBS/CW/USA deals (100% linear football). ~$7–10M per school for ~5 years. The American is higher, longer, and stable. Pac-12 wins on exposure

Because the banking system won't finance a housing correction, instead, sales volumes will stay at all-time lows until conditions are more favorable for banks, not buyers
Can someone explain why supply-demand hasn’t lowered home prices?
