Violence against Jews has reached its deadliest level since the 1994 AMIA bombing, according to the J7, which represents 90% of the global Jewish diaspora. Canada has been fortunate to avoid the deadly attacks seen in Australia, the U.S., and the U.K. thanks to the extraordinary work of our police and security agencies, which have foiled at least four ISIS-inspired plots in fewer than three years. But as @NShack tells @DaveGordonWrite in @NationalPost, we cannot wait for a Bondi Beach-style attack on Canadian soil before acting with urgency the threat demands. It's time for governments and authorities at all levels to: • Confront antisemitic rhetoric—including when it's disguised as antizionism. • Enforce our laws and hold offenders accountable. • Get tougher on terrorism. • Strengthen intelligence partnerships with our allies. • Give police and security agencies the resources they need. • Disrupt the extremists radicalizing and inciting violence here at home.
