It turns out, beating AI is extremely easy... you just have to ask it to roleplay sci-fi tropes:

This is crucial. Understand these two facts: 1. Once you pick a DB, you're unlikely to leave that for another DB. So don't worry about portability of your code. Thus.... 2. Use every feature of your DB and learn to optimize queries for it. You can save days of time.
SQL is not [practically] standardized, don't use a least common denominator. I helped speed up a production query by 100x in wall clock time (and lower app memory) by switching to use recursive CTEs that are PostgreSQL-specific. Learn your SQL implementation, its pretty great.

The VALUES table-construction statement of #PostgreSQL and #SQLServer offers a brilliant way to construct, troubleshoot, and debug complex SQL queries.

Y'all this new JSON subscript syntax in Postgres 14 is sweet. Super excited to see Postgres just getting better bit by bit - blog.crunchydata.com/blog/be…

🚀🚀🚀💎💎💎 I’m incredibly excited to announce this new @rubygems feature. From now on, you can review changes in the releases of gems by clicking on the "Review changes" link. There's much more to it and you can read about it here: mensfeld.pl/2020/10/diffend-… #ruby #security

Most of all deployments out there that use PostgreSQL + memcache/redis and even elasticsearch to write non relational data in whatever form: Could likely just use PostgreSQL and its non relational features.

There's much more to SQL than what you learned in college or on W3Schools, like: - Window Functions - CTE and Recursive CTE - JSON processing - PIVOT and UNPIVOT - Lateral Join and Cross Apply - Merge and Upsert Investing time in learning SQL is definitely going to pay off.

How much better than JPEG can a neural network be at image compression? A lot. Like, a lot a lot. hific.github.io/ The site has an interactive comparison of their method vs JPEG so you don't need to know/care much about ML to see the difference.

I'm saving bits of audio to a BLOB column in Postgres. Because I plan to put a CDN in front of the controller that serves them, I wanted to asset fingerprint the "filename". Then I thought "can Postgres 12 generated columns build a filename for me?" Yup! Worked on the first try!

Today I was dealing with polymorphic associations in PostgreSQL and needed to guarantee that my `reports` table contains exactly one association to either `videos` or `comments`. I used constraint with coercion trick that solves this elegantly #PostgreSQL #polymorhism
