Yes. Every Christian should steward their citizenship wisely. I believe every Christian should vote. But the vote doesn’t begin in November every two years. It begins earlier. In primaries. In showing up and choosing the best candidate who matches character and policy. In local elections. In the things you choose to speak out about and those things you choose to be silent about. If your only framework for politics is two weeks in November, you are not that engaged. You are disengaged.

I’ve always believed the whole Christian Nationalism thing was a fraud. But I never expected to see its hypocrisy so spectacularly exposed as it was this week. Wow.

I'm thankful to have received summary judgment in my favor in the David Sills case. Others have said much about this case while it was underway; I was always confident and content to wait for the court's judgment. I am happy for the court's order to speak for itself.

I really just think we don’t need books like this until it’s been a long while of proven repentance. It’s only been 2 years since his adultery was exposed. Never fails that the morally failed pastors first word back is a book or a conference. Gotta have that platform.

Do you have an actual argument or is mockery and ad hominem your only rhetorical approach?

A primary reason I became part of the Conservative Resurgence in the Southern Baptist Convention was the call Adrian Rogers issued, not only for biblical inerrancy, but also confessional fidelity. Liberalism’s continual error is that it seeks to redefine our faith. Stop it, boys.
On Confessional Fidelity Charles Spurgeon assured his people that he believed their confession. He promised if he ever changed his mind, he would resign. “Sirs, when I accepted the office of minister of this congregation, I looked to see what were your articles of faith;… 1/3

There is a difference between admitting that Christianity is a social good--most of our Founders and many of our Presidents have acknowledged this. Baptists have always acknowledged this. I devoted a whole chapter in my recent book to this! That's significantly different than tasking the government with adjudicating right and wrong forms of worship (which is what blasphemy laws would be). Baptists reject both secularism and theocracy.

The Baptist Faith and Message has one sentence that puts a stake in the heart of the Moscow sect’s proposals to require religious tests for holding office and for blasphemy laws: “The state has no right to impose penalties for religious opinions of any kind.” See Article XVI.

We should make the will of Christ supreme in our nation. Christianity is good for society. The question is how we get there. The church must never expect the state to do what we’ve been charged to do. Spiritual renewal, not state coercion, is the way to see the nation changed.

Name a state that enforced blasphemy laws that did not end up persecuting faithful dissidents to the state church. I would assert that power corrupts doctrine before it corrupts acts.

So @BaptistPress quickly limited commenting on the Facebook post for this article, apparently troubled that people were pointing out that Dr Mohler’s views are contrary to what Baptists have believed for the entirety of our existence.
