Zack Polanski says the Green Party's 'Zionism is racism' motion isn't "controversial" and "I'm not sorry at all" for his handling of the issue.
He says there's no point "having a debate about the semantics" of the meaning of the word Zionism - what matters is the "practical application".
Asked if he accepts Zionism means the right to a Jewish homeland, Polanski says: "I think that's what people think it means. But actually, in practical application, which is what we're talking about here, that homeland has come to the cost of the Palestinian people."
He says left-wing Jewish people like him "feel great shame" that "in the name of Judaism, we are seeing Palestinians murdered".
Asked whether Israel has a right to exist, Polanski says: "There's no right to exist for any country. Ultimately, people have a right to exist."
And press on if he backs a two-state solution, he says: "I support whatever the Israelis and Palestinians need to be able to live side by side with equal rights."
Polanski says he disagrees with the new Green policy passed at conference that calls for the establishment of a single state throughout "historic Palestine".
Polanski says he won't seek to overturn it, but will try to amend it (in 2 years - under Green party rules) and adds: "I respect the democratic will of our members."
"I do want to amend it. I want to move away from 'one state' towards saying that Israelis and Palestinians should decide that future for themselves."
Pressed on the criticism he's received for his handling of the issue, Polanski says: "I'm not sorry at all."
He says most Jewish Greens back the "Zionism is racism" motion, and criticises Burnham's approach to Israel - saying the UK is still selling arms and sharing inteligence.

“Let me die,” American photojournalist Heidi Levine repeats to journalists Jasper Nathaniel as they try to outrun masked Israeli settlers who attacked her on Friday while she covered the olive harvest in the West Bank village of Abu Falah, near Ramallah.
Around 80 settlers attacked Palestinian olive harvesters in the village, AP reported. The Palestinian Red Crescent said it treated six people injured in two attacks in Abu Falah.
Levine, a freelancer for the Washington Post, told the Committee to Protect Journalists that the settlers knocked her down and kicked her for at least 10 minutes, even after she identified herself as an American journalist. They stole her camera, phone and bag. She was eventually taken to a hospital in Ramallah.
"The IDF provided cover, with tear gas and machine guns, while the settlers beat" Levine "nearly to death," Nathaniel wrote, adding that soldiers then shot a Palestinian bystander and aimed their guns at and shoved paramedics trying to treat him. AP photos and circulating videos show Israeli soldiers standing over a wounded Palestinian man after they shot him.
Andrey X, an activist also at the scene, said a Palestinian man "saved our lives from the settler-terrorists who attacked the olive harvesters and journalists” armed only with a slingshot.

Antisemitism is serious.
That’s precisely why it should never be weaponised as a political football. Labour doing so should disgust people across every community.
And all this while they continue to arm a genocide and lock up pensioners.
Antisemitism is a cancer in our politics.
We fought hard to root it out of our party.
We will not stand by and watch it infect public life again.

The dangerous & irresponsible blurring of challenging Israel & Antisemitism is deeply revealing.
A Labour Government who apologised over their actions over Gaza is demonstrating that it was all performative. Andy Burnham still stands with Israel whilst it kills innocent people.

I spoke about a windfall bank tax in my newspaper columns this week. My thoughts are that the big banks have been bailed out numerous times by taxpayers, & now they are back making huge profits; it's time for them to repay the debt to taxpayers, as winter approaches and help is needed with energy bills.

I'm the only Jewish leader of a political party.
I'm a victim of Antisemitism every day and I've made it clear Jewish people are welcome in my party.
You're a Prime Minister who arms a genocide and locks pensioners up for opposing it.
Andy Burnham rules out any partnership between Labour and the Green Party due to their controversial motion declaring "Zionism is racism".

Why do people only ever ask 'Does Israel have the right to exist?' How about Lebanon? Does Lebanon have the right to exist? Syria? At the moment, parts of those countries are under occupation. Do journalists ask questions about those countries' rights to exist?

In Britain, the establishment opinion, as we’ve learned over the last 24 hours, is that you can somehow build an exclusionary ethnonationalist colony on someone else’s land… without racism.
And if you say, “I don’t know, that sounds pretty racist,” somehow you’re the racist.

She can’t concede water privatisation is a failure.
To do so is to accept privatisation of essential utilities has failed.
But it goes further than that.
It would be a tacit admission that Thatcherism itself has failed and failed, catastrophically.
A majority of the country is living with that failure.
That’s an opportunity for us to now spell out the alternative.

£300,000 relates to her own travel and accommodation - yet she only lives 50 miles from London.
Her boss, @KemiBadenoch has 3 children, claims £2.7K per month to rent a 6 bed farmhouse & tried to claim expenses for a family holiday.
The country can't afford these @Conservatives.

“Establish a fair financial redress scheme for the 3.8 million taxpayers excluded from Covid-19 financial support, reflecting the support received by comparable taxpayers and businesses.”
For more than six years, millions of people who dutifully paid into the system have been fighting to be heard.
Newly self-employed people.
Company directors.
Freelancers.
New starters.
Those denied furlough.
PAYE freelancers.
People earning over the SEISS threshold.
Those affected by maternity, pensions and other circumstances.
People lost income, businesses, homes and financial security while others in comparable circumstances received substantial Government support.
The consequences did not simply disappear when lockdown ended.
This petition is our opportunity to show Parliament that the excluded have NOT gone away.
📣 WE NEED 10,000 SIGNATURES for a Government response.
📣 WE NEED 100,000 SIGNATURES for the petition to be considered for debate in Parliament.

Please share it on Facebook, LinkedIn, X, WhatsApp, email and anywhere else you can.

Tag journalists.
Tag broadcasters.
Tag anyone who supported the excluded.
We need to get this in front of as many people as possible.
After six years of campaigning, we are still here.
We are still fighting.
And we will continue until the 3.8 million excluded taxpayers finally receive the recognition, justice and financial redress they deserve.
Dutifully paid in. Deliberately left out.

Billionaires who leave should be forced to settle up with HMRC and pay an exit tax on the way out.
We should also take back the UK property he owns through offshore accounts.
David Reueben has allegedly got non dom status meaning he opts out of lots of British Taxation and he also keeps a lot of his money off shore anyway.
He holds substantial UK properties through off shore companies avoiding UK taxation.
He has been linked to Russian and German dodgy money scandals and has donated millions to the Tories who destroyed this country.
He is leaving to Monaco? Good riddance!
