It's good to see the Prime Minister sharing our commitment to fixing social care once and for all.
But he must not wait any longer to act.
We urge him to get a date in for further cross-party talks immediately.
This is the only way to fix social care for the long term.

In #Woking town centre more than 2,000 homes already have planning permission but remain unbuilt.
The Government's broadly defined "greybelt" policy doesn't address this landbanking, but risks undermining the character of our towns and villages by destroying the greenbelt.

Visited #Woking’s York Road Project to mark #WorldHomelessDay. Cherisse, Tim and the whole team at the shelter do an incredible job to reduce homelessness locally.
Great news for West Byfleet - the village is getting a Post Office! The branch will open in Botanical Place on Monday 14th December.
After Lloyds closed, West Byfleet was left without any Post Office or banking services in the village, so I'm delighted that they are returning.

Earlier this week, the Housing Secretary announced a Government U-turn - they will now regulate property management agents. Something I have long been calling for to help people in #Woking and across the country hold companies who run their homes.

100 residents were evacuated from #Woking's Eastgate building in 2023.
Despite independent testing being carried out, the results haven't been released and it still sits abandoned.
I've demanded the results be released immediately and residents given a full explanation.
Housing is the top issue in my inbox as #Woking’s MP - including problems with property management companies.
Pleased the Government have now U-turned and will soon regulate them.
Thank you @mtpennycook. Pleased the Government has U-turned on regulating property management agents after the Housing, Communities and Local Government Select Committee recommended regulation. Hope the improved Leasehold Reform Bill will be introduced straight after recess.
Leaseholders across the country are being routinely gouged by freeholders and managing agents acting on their behalf.
This Labour government is taking on vested interests to protect leaseholders from exploitation.
Today, we’ve announced we will cap exorbitant administration and permission fees and legislate for the independent regulation of managing agents.

A #Woking resident lives in fear after the Probation Service released her former partner and warned her that he had made threats against both her and her child - and that she needs rehousing for her safety.
The Government must boost probation staffing to prevent cases like this.
