A while back, we employed a new design agency to create some simple webpage designs. Anyone familiar with this kind of work will be used to seeing faux-Latin "Lorem Ipsum" text used as placeholder text... buff.ly/3wmuanR

Boomers and Gen X had the luxury of picking up a hobby and never thinking “how can I monetize this journey on a social media platform?”

You don’t have to be a photojounalist to be visually literate. 🧵
There’s a photo feature at NYT today focusing on the toll Covid-19 has taken on the city. I couldn’t put my finger on what felt off about it to me until I realized that almost all of the photos of people in/ around their homes were of white people.

It is not enough for a journalist to be cross-trained in writing, photography, video, design. HTML, CSS are the building blocks of all sites. @dabblingdesign will help students learn the basics to take a little bit of code knowledge and make a big difference on their websites.

This is my brother. He's an emergency room doctor at Massachusetts General Hospital. You can probably tell where this story is going. He and his staff members are dramatically under-equipped as they fight the spread of #COVID19, its only getting worse. Not better. Worse.

Don't know who needs to hear this today but: Success in journalism does NOT always look like working for a national outlet. Local journalism matters, and working in a local market does not mean you're not good enough to work nationally. – at Ohio, USA

It’s human nature to believe that others are just like us and that’s how the homeless sector has been communicating with the public. At some point, the sector must accept that most people do not see homeless people as humans and are more than willing to pay to have them removed!
