I think a lot of folks who dabble in occultism and/or paganism freak out and run back to the church because they never stopped being Christian at heart, and brought a Christian worldview & morality to a framework where it's totally foreign. Never mind the fact that plenty of if not most pagan paths don't even believe or engage with the Abrahamic concept of Satan; of course you're going to have a bad time if you're still coming from a place where "everything that isn't god is the devil/demonic," and run back to that the second anything remotely potent happens.
You gotta check that baggage at the door or you'll end up where you started or worse. If even you don't believe in what you're doing... not sure what you expect

I was reading an occult book last night while my bunny Bacchus was roaming, then she decided to hop over me, tried to rip it out of my hands, and then kept trying to eat it.
When I ordered Fanged Noumena, someone had ripped it open, presumably to see if it was worth stealing, then just left it, ripped open, on my doorstep. Not even worth reselling for $2 or whatever to them.
It’s fascinating to me how pretty much every major Thelemite throughout history has had at least one major Libra placement.
