SharpEmu is the first PS5 emulator to boot Elden Ring and reach in-game. I'll start wording my posts this way from now on, since I tend to see the same achievements in another emulator just a couple of hours later.

GT7 on SharpEmu. I’ve fixed the fonts, and I’m very close to reaching the menu. Since this is something I’m working on locally, so need to wait a bit longer.

Stop falling for this non-sense. A lot of these 'native PC ports / recomps' are nothing but emulation wrapped up a fancy exe using AI. Please explain to me why this 'native port' has a shadPS4 folder, and game patches used on shadPS4.

Today I want to talk about two nice new features added to SharpEmu. The first one is the trophy system.

The second is ZAR file compression, a ZIP-like format that packs the entire dump into a single .zar file. It supports random file access, can reduce the size to around one third depending on the game, and does so without sacrificing performance. Here’s the before and after:

More photos on Astro Bot from tester team. Apparently, there is no FPS difference between my 4070S and the 4090.

After getting some feedback about the emulator feeling empty on first launch, I had a fun idea: why not include a demo game? So I made one. Now, when you open the emulator for the first time, you’re greeted with an actual playable PS5 game instead of an empty library.

It’s actually more than just a fun idea. It gives you a quick way to experience what the emulator is capable of. The game’s music plays in the menu, it loads a real PS5 game, and you can actually play it. github.com/sharpemu/sharpemu…
