He didn’t hold back. 🇦🇺💬 From across the ocean, this Australian gives a raw, unfiltered look at modern America. It’s a perspective most people are too afraid to say out loud, but it impacts all of us, no matter where we live. This is a global wake-up call. #USA #USAPolitics #AmericanCulture

UnitedHealth used their profits to pay out $11.2 billion directly to its investors during the first 9 months of 2026. This was split between $5 billion spent on stock buybacks to boost their value and $6.2 billion paid out as cash dividends. What does it say about our nation's healthcare system that a handful of bigwigs and predatory middlemen can extract over $10 billion in under a year and pocket it for their own private profits? How many claims were denied to make that possible? How many innocent Americans had to suffer? These massive profits rely on automated claim denials or strict prior authorization rules, which delay and block medically necessary treatment. How many vulnerable patients were subjected to emotional and financial stress in their time of need so UnitedHealth can make these profits? Taking billions of dollars out of our healthcare system and funneling it to wealthy investors is a cruel and immoral heist. They are stealing essential resources away from places where that money is needed most like direct clinical care, patient access, and lowering out-of-pocket costs for patients. Maximizing returns as a health insurer means generating worse patient outcomes. Americans are suffering and dying in preventable ways to make a few people richer. This is some serial killer shit. It doesn't have to be this way.

Stop what you are doing because you need to read this. Billions of dollars in oil trades were perfectly timed to Trump’s decision to back off attacking Iranian power plants. Trump announced the reversal just 15 minutes after those trades were placed. Stocks surged while oil prices plummeted, setting up whoever placed those bets to make a fortune. Career analysts at the CFTC, the agency responsible for policing these markets, did exactly what they were supposed to do: they started digging. And what they found was serious enough to refer the trades for a potential insider trading investigation. That is, until a senior advisor to a Trump appointee shut it down. Congress needs answers about who made these bets, who had advanced knowledge of Trump’s decision, and why political leadership at the CFTC stepped in.

Our healthcare system is run by insurance company ghouls who financially benefit when they deny people doctor-ordered medical care. This is absurd and inhumane. We don’t need insurance companies. They need to be dismantled.
🚨 ANTHEM HAS DECIDED IT’S MY DOCTOR AGAIN Earlier this year, @AnthemBCBS denied an MRI ordered to determine whether my CANCER HAD SPREAD, calling it “not medically necessary.” I publicly called them out. The post went viral. Anthem suddenly contacted me, apologized—and approved the scan. Now they’re doing it again. In August, I severely injured my left foot. I’ve been in acute pain ever since and am walking around Brooklyn in a giant medical boot. After two weeks of fighting just to get access to an in-network podiatrist, I finally saw a specialist. She examined me, ordered an X-ray, saw a hairline fracture and damage around the Achilles/heel area, and ordered an MRI so she can determine exactly what I injured and how to treat it. My podiatrist says the MRI is medically necessary and needs to happen ASAP. Anthem denied it. “Not medically necessary.” Let me make sure I understand this. The specialist who actually examined my foot, reviewed my X-ray and is responsible for treating me says she needs an MRI. Anthem — the insurance company that has to PAY for the MRI — says she doesn’t. Apparently Anthem is my podiatrist now. My MRI is scheduled for Tuesday, October 20 at 5 PM. Instead of simply getting the medical care my doctor ordered, I am now spending my time calling the provider, the imaging center and Anthem’s appeals department trying to persuade an insurance company to let my doctor practice medicine. And yes, there is an appeal process. There is always an appeal process. Because apparently being injured isn’t enough. You also need a second job as your own insurance claims attorney. Here is what makes me angriest: If Anthem refuses to approve the scan, I can pay for it myself. Millions of Americans cannot. What happens when someone living paycheck to paycheck is told the MRI their doctor ordered isn’t “medically necessary”? What happens when it isn’t a foot? What happens when it’s cancer? What happens when the patient simply gives up because they don’t have the money, time, energy or platform to fight a massive insurance company? I have already learned what happens when you publicly embarrass Anthem. A scan that wasn’t “medically necessary” suddenly became medically necessary. Nothing about my condition changed. The public attention did. Access to healthcare should not depend on your ability to make an insurance company uncomfortable on social media. My doctor ordered the MRI. Anthem denied it. The scan is Tuesday at 5 PM. Let’s see who blinks. And if you’ve had an insurance company deny care your doctor said you needed, tell me your story. I have a feeling there are a lot of us.

Why isn't oil at $200? Because "someone" keeps dumping oil futures all night long, and the CFTC refuses to look into it. Heck, even when it's clear-cut insider trading, the CFTC has been told to "back off," and they did. bloomberg.com/news/features/…
Replying to @chrismartenson
If you could, is there a good tl;dr version of why the hell oil isn´t at $200 already? Not keeping up with the day to day any longer, but given the number of moving parts currently obfuscating the view, a better vantage point would be much appreciated. 🫣

Don't forget that before Trump decided to bomb Iran: - Hormuz was open - The Gulf had peace - Yemen had peace - Iran had peace - Israel was not invading Lebanon - No one was bombing Israel - Ethiopia had peace - Oil was below $70 - American bases in the Gulf were untouched

We are witnessing only the BEGINNING of the October Surprise. Vessels are being hit constantly by Iran. And not just “little hits”. The radius of the strike area has expanded into the Gulf of Oman and Persian Gulf. Ansar Allah (Houthis) are striking airports and energy infrastructure across Saudi. Iraqi militias are ready to join the fight. This is a disaster that a TODDLER could have predicted.

Nobody's this incompetent by accident. Omsk got hit again overnight. Hormuz is still shut. More ships have been struck in the last week than in the rest of the war. Abqaiq is on fire. Saudi tanks are burning at Rabigh. And oil futures are up a couple of bucks. If they wanted a different outcome, they'd be doing different things. You don't destroy fuel flows, and the fertilizer that rides on them, by accident. One does not simply reduce fertilizer output without reducing population. They're holding the markets together with baling wire and spit so it all lands at once. That's not a bug. That's the feature. New Wake Up Call: peakprosperity.pulse.ly/h7in… These are the good old days. Prepare accordingly.

The consequences of the Iran War are just beginning to impact the US supply chain. We have a long road ahead of us The dominoes will continue to fall as this war drags on and on. Everything will be fine. Until suddenly, it’s not.

BREAKING: Oil executives warn US diesel prices will not return to normal for more than a year, with almost half of 100 oil and gas companies surveyed by the Dallas Fed now saying it will take more than four quarters to get back to 2025 levels, per the FT. "Diesel is the mother's milk of the economy," one respondent says. "We are just starting to see the impact on the wider economy." Chevron CEO Mike Wirth said two weeks ago that the Great Fuel Crisis executives had warned about has arrived and that the mechanisms mitigating price and supply risk have "largely now played out."

The COVID-conscious are right because their position is built on the four most robust findings in the SARS-CoV-2 literature: silent transmission, asymptomatic organ damage, compounding reinfection risk, and massive societal cost. The burden of proof now rests on those who claim infection is harmless, not on those who take precautions.

BREAKING: Iran is currently launching multiple missiles to unknown locations. This has been cross-corroborated across multiple OSINT channels. This comes directly on the heels of UKMTO reporting indicating that Iran has struck (at least) FOUR vessels in the last 48 hours in the Strait of Hormuz, including 3 reported this morning. There is ZERO indication whatsoever that Iran is even close to “not being able to threaten transits through the Strait of Hormuz”.

Desman Stephan’s hit was bad. But his post-hit behavior was a disturbing spectacle. Laughing, making a scene all over the field. He walked the length of the end zone, waving his arms and yucking it up while Moore lay motionless. He should be kicked off the @USC football team.
Desman Stephens II has been at USC for 3 years. He just head-hunted Dante Moore and then taunted Oregon’s roster after he knocked Moore out. Then he laughed on the sideline and dapped up teammates. People are gonna see that as a reflection on the USC staff. They should.

All Americans must confront the long, interrupted stream of racial injustice in this country. Absolutely abhorrent, shameful and heartbreaking. 💔
Nolan Wells didn't drown. Emmett didn't whistle. Philando didn't reach for a gun. Trayvon didn't harass. Sonya Massey didn't call the police to die. Ahmaud didn't trespass. Breonna never woke up. Sean Bell didn't make it to the altar. George and Eric couldn't breathe. Rekia didn't pose a threat. Laquan was walking away. Kendrick did not roll himself up. Mike Brown was only jaywalking. Sandra Bland did not commit suicide. Botham Jean couldnt enjoy his ice cream. Tamir Rice didn't have a gun.

Taking off 20% of the global diesel market overnight seems like a GREAT way to cause enormous problems voluntarily. You really have to wonder WHO is pushing for this, because I have yet to come across someone with genuine expertise that supports such a measure…
The U.S. supplies about 20% of diesel traded globally by sea. An export ban would remove that supply from that market, exacerbating the global refining crisis responsible for high fuel prices.
