The omicron variant is NOT mild.
Hospitalisations are 40-45% less likely than with the delta variant (imperial.ac.uk/mrc-global-in…), but the delta variant is >2x more severe than the original strain (cmaj.ca/content/193/42/E1619).
The omicron variant is AT LEAST as bad as the 2020 virus.

Complete waste of time. The sooner European countries realise they are only a couple of weeks behind UK and deal with *domestic* transmission the better it will be for them.

I would be curious to know how many times crypto.randomUUID is being executed per-second within a few years ☺️
I'm betting this little method will be the highest usage OSS I've contributed to.

Full phone number database of #Clubhouse is up for sale on the #Darknet. It contains 3.8 billion phone numbers. These are not just members but also people in contact lists that were synced. Chances are high that you are listed even if you haven't had a Clubhouse login.

Such an fascinating/frightening project by @tijmenschep explaining the risks of facial recognition and an important reminder to #ReclaimYourFace...
What about #FaceRecognition? Is it really working? Please try it yourself! Spoiler: I was predicted to be an 11-year old girl 👧 being "pretty strange". Why? Because "#AI" makes mistakes. Hownormalami.eu #HowNormalAmI

21) Let’s examine the #B16172 variant surge in Bolton UK 🇬🇧 closer… it’s uniquely in two age groups… kids & parents of school-age kids. It’s no a coincidence damnit. Large studies previously have shown its more kids in a house, the more transmission in a house to adults.

26. But people have been saying we've not seeing big increases in overall numbers of cases.
But that's cos we've had 2 epidemics - 1 declining (B.1.1.7) and 1 growing (B.1.617.2). While B.1.1.7 remained dominant, it masked the growth of B.1.617.2 and kept case numbers down.

Ping Marcus and talk to him, even if you're unsure! He convinced me to leave my (also wonderful) job at Apple to join Datadog, and the stuff we work on is super exciting!
More importantly, the people on the team are really smart, and more importantly super friendly and humble.
Is there any awesome Java developer with experience in writing IntelliJ plug-ins out there who would be interested in joining my team @datadoghq? (Very ambitious project.)
If it sounds fun - ping me! If you know someone who needs more fun and would fit - ping them! :)
