Many smallholder farmers are already experiencing the effects of climate change. But information about solutions often remains locked in technical reports, policy discussions, or media content that does not speak directly to their realities.
That is why this project partnered with InfoNile (Water Journalists Africa) to test a different approach: localising climate change content and taking stories back to the community.
In this episode, we speak to the team about their experience taking information directly to smallholder farmers.

Through this partnership, journalists and content creators were trained in climate reporting, data journalism, solutions journalism, and gender-responsive storytelling.
But the goal was not simply to produce more stories.
It was to create practical, relatable content in local languages and accessible formats that could help farmers make better decisions about climate-smart agriculture.

What happened when those stories returned to the communities?
Farmers engaged. Local leaders joined the conversation. Women, refugees and host communities accessed information designed around their realities. And climate-smart solutions became easier to understand and adopt.
In our latest episode of #ClimateTalkUganda with @jkkarungi, we speak with the InfoNile team about lessons, impact and what comes next.

If you're working with refugees and smallholder farmers and would like to bring Pfumvudza to them, let us know and let's see how to make it happen.
