Floresta’s Q4 2026 roadmap is out. Goal: a welcoming project. Stronger tests, dependable CI, automation that gives devs time back and logs that explain what the node is doing. As code gets cheaper to write, verifying it matters more.

That's a huge speedup for Bitcoin IBD.
I've finished mainnet AV Swift Sync IBD in 19:45 min, using 4.2Gbps, 32 Cores and ~5GB of RAM (the machine's got 60GB, but never used more than 5). This CPU was way overkill, 8 **good** cores would have done the trick just fine!

Btrust’s long-term developer grant program is expanding beyond Africa, starting with Brazil 🇧🇷 and India 🇮🇳. We’re excited to welcome three new developer grantees: @plebhash, @_oleonardolima, and @AnshSharma54105. This expansion is being carried out in partnership with @Vinteum_org in Brazil and @bitshala_org in India, two organizations that have supported the developers’ growth and connected them to local Bitcoin communities. Read the full announcement: xitter.cf/btrustteam/status/2100… Experienced Bitcoin open-source developers across the Global Majority can now apply for the Btrust long-term developer grant here: btrust.homerun.co/open-sourc…

Anyone with a >2Gbps internet willing to help us testing something? We don't need any particularly beefy machine, 8GB RAM/Disk 4-Core CPU manufactured after 2015 is fine (I think even SBCs will do). Cc @JoseSK999

I am ... stoked!
We’re sharing a solution to the Navier-Stokes Millennium Prize Problem, one of the deepest problems at the frontier of mathematics. The proof was produced by a group of agents, using an OpenAI next-generation model significantly more capable than GPT-6 Astra. The problem concerns whether the description of smooth three-dimensional fluid motion modeled by the Navier-Stokes equations can break down. It has remained unresolved for roughly 90 years.

xitter.cf/i/trending/20954658547… Five hundred years ago, Portugal was at the top of the world, with an empire stretching across continents. Few countries have ever had a better shot at global dominance and Portugal still managed to let it slip away. It seems to be happening again, this time in the realm of technological opportunity.

Am I the only one who, in the AI era, still tries to understand a PR from the ground up when reviewing it? I draw schematics, sequence diagrams and so on, just to grasp the intent behind the code. Maybe I'm "The Last of the Mohicans". Or maybe I'm just too dumb. 😄

Vinteum’s fourth year was about becoming a more durable organization. Supporting established contributors. Helping emerging developers move toward sustained open-source careers. Strengthening the systems around that work. The Year Four Report is out. vinteum.org/blog/vinteum-yea…

I traced the Bitcoin Core multiprocess binaries (bitcoin-node and bitcoin-wallet) and wrote 3 posts on how it works under the hood. viniciuscestari.dev/posts/in… Turns out I wrote 3 posts to explain one line of C++, because of everything it hides.

Building a new Bitcoin node implementation is one challenge. Making it reliable enough for others to build on is another. Proud to support the work behind @getfloresta as the project enters this next stage.
