This is incredible. A Celestia light node is running in people's browser when they use the block Explorer.
When fully implemented, this will be the first decentralized explorer will be able to get data from a blockchain in a verifiable way without centralised RPC endpoints!

Exactly 15 years ago on this day, Satoshi published the Bitcoin whitepaper, which proposed the idea of light nodes that can verify "alerts" for invalid blocks. This is essential to allowing blockchains to increase their block size without compromising end-user decentralization.
Today, after countless block size wars and scaling debates, a chain with experimental data availability sampling--the key ingredient to make Satoshi's "alerts" vision a reality--has been deployed to mainnet for the first time.
