one of the great things about the @cronometer app is that you can go out for something to eat, take a photo of the plate and the app will estimate both the food and quantity then update your macro values, it's surprisingly accurate

@cronometer is king. Why just track macros when you can get a complete micronutrient analysis too for the same effort!

Tracking with @cronometer really hits this home.
One of my favorite features is the weight vs alcohol chart.
Shows in black and white how massively your metrics improve when you take some time off the sauce.
Weight, sleep, calorie goals, everything aligns when you stop.

I've spent the last two months tracking my calories via @cronometer (an incredible app) and it's been one of the most humbling and eye-opening experiences of my life.
I thought I had "plateaued" at ~205 lbs. for years, when in reality I was consuming 400+ more calories/day than needed. It's impossible to outwork that many excess calories. I'm down over 10 lbs. in two months.
Dedication, discipline and moving heavy weights 💪
People underestimate their calorie intake by as much as 1,000 calories a day—and overestimate how much they’re moving.
Or believe that they have a “slow metabolism.”
It’s a powerful combination to explain why so many struggle to lose weight, even when working hard at it.
Your energy balance—calories in versus calories out—matters for weight loss or gain.
That’s why tracking your calories is a great idea. It provides incredible insight into dietary habits and areas for improvement. And the science backs it up.
People who tracked their diets for a year lost about 10 pounds, while inconsistent trackers saw their weight fluctuate greatly.
While calorie tracking isn’t mandatory for weight loss, it’s a powerful tool to help keep you on track for consistent long-term weight loss success.

@cronometer (Revelstoke, BC) is responsible for my 15# weight loss in 3 wks (no drugs, fasting, or weird stuff). Weight, exercise, nutrition tracking. I bought a wifi scale (not their product) that puts my weight directly on my Crono desktop. And it's spring!

If you track what you eat with @cronometer, you make nutrition tracking about way more than calories and macros
You can see a detailed profile of all the micronutrients you're getting so you can see where your deficiencies are
Tracking does not equal ignoring food quality

After going about 15 days straight of logging all my foods in @cronometer down to the gram here what I learned: 👇
1. You will likely have some gaps in your diet.
I thought that I had everything dialed in but after seeing exactly what I was taking into my body I found some gaps.
While I had generally pretty good essential vitamins and minerals targets being hit. I had a few gaps in some things like choline and potassium.
Also, my omega 3 targets were not getting hit to what I would like.
2. Protein Goals Can Be Harder To Hit
If you're someone who is trying to lift weights and hit your protein goals, it's a lot harder to hit than you would think.
I make it a point to add some extra protein into my diet. Adding a little bit to each meal can go a long way.
3. Some foods are a lot more calorically dense than you would think
I was shocked to find that I was getting 20% of my calories during the day from cheese. CHEESE. While I am not someone who says you should eliminate dairy. Cutting down some of the foods that are more calorically dense can help you hit your cutting goals.
Snacks also add up a lot more than you would think. You might think 2 snacks a day isn't much but that can add up to a caloric surplus of 1 lb a week.
4. Your nutrition is all about the little things
Most people want to go on radical diets to lose weight but the truth is, making small changes over a long period of time is how you truly change behavior. My biggest recommendation would be to weigh out your food and see what you are getting.

If you want to make changes to your health, I highly recommend TRULY tracking what you ingest daily - including the vitamins and minerals
@cronometer app makes it so easy 😍
The first few times, like anything else, it’s effort to learn and with favorites and a huge database to choose from. This free app makes it super simple
Great data to share with your functional medicine doctor or traditional allopathic doctor (if they care to solve the root cause of ur illness)
It’s fun to get healthier as I age. Definitely recommend it as an aim in life 💪🔥🎉
