So much focus this legislative session on ESAs but charter schools are vintage choice! Great speech by Sen Edmonds yesterday on the Senate floor.
@RickEdmondsLA gave us chills with his fiery closing argument yesterday for SB 350!
"Without reservation and without hesitation, I ask for your favorable passage."

You know you’re a geek when…the best part of your day was talking about pension integrity with @ReasonFdn. It’s time the State takes the debt of TRSL off the backs of our public schools. Teachers deserve choice too.
Our Executive Director Caroline Roemer discussing pension reform with @jimtuckerforla and Steven Gassenberger at the @pelicaninstitute summit today in Baton Rouge.

One of my favorite high schools. A perfect example of what it looks like to create a mission based school that meets kids where they are in life and then pulls them close to get them across the stage. Come see it for yourself. We will proudly host you!
Great school tour at The NET Gentilly, an alternative charter school guiding struggling students to succeed. The school offers coaching, internships, & a free, on-site early childhood center for parenting students. eqaschools.org #lalege #laed #LDOE #BESE
Amazing turnout for our school tours over the last few weeks. We appreciate all the legislators and elected officials for showing up to learn more about charter schools and to hear from educators and students. Hope to see more @LouisianaHouse @louisianasenate at the next one!
If faced with a Zombie invasion and our community was limited to only those that could contribute to our survival, my skill would be growing eggplants. What’s your value add?
Great @LAPCSTeam staff retreat today at the Fontainebleau State Park. Thanks @LAStateParks @BillyNungesser for hosting us. What a beautiful place to think about the work ahead! #lalege #ldoe #bese

What a terrible tragedy. @LAPCSTeam sends our deepest sympathies to the families, friends and fellow @SouthernU_BR students of these young men. Heaven just received some amazing new musicians.
The SU Family extends our sincerest condolences to the loved ones of Broderick Moore, a freshman majoring in music; Dylan Young, a sophomore majoring in mechanical engineering; and Tyran Williams, a freshman majoring in music. #WeAreSouthern

Bureaucracy at its finest. And this probably one example among many. Gov should fire Sec Walters. Unacceptable. @LouisianaGov
