HB 484 passed unanimously in the House and Senate. Goal is to keep drunk driving offenders off the road and enhance penalties for those that try. I’m proud to have worked with advocacy groups like MADD Louisiana & @MADDNational to get the bill through the legislative process.
I want to send my deepest condolences to Representative Sam Jenkins and his family for the passing of Mrs. Cynthia Jenkins. I can't begin to imagine the pain of losing your soul-mate and best friend. Please pray with me for the Jenkins family.
Enjoyed spending time with supporters at the Rally for Louisiana in front of the Capitol for the Veto Override Session starting tomorrow!
Gov. John Bel once again fails to keep a campaign promise. In 2015, he said he would promote conservative social and family issues. His veto of SB 156 shows that he has abandoned his commitment.

BREAKING!: The Governor has signed HB 54 as Act 464. This is a bill I had the pleasure of authoring and it protects families seeking to adopt from being deceived during the adoption process. You can read Act 464 here: legis.la.gov/legis/ViewDocum…
A state of emergency has been issued due to potential weather threats. Stay safe! Local sandbag locations:
Great news! The Governor has signed HB280. This is a bill I had the pleasure of authoring which revises the eligibility criteria for school participation in the Student Scholarships for Education Program while also removing the 20% enrollment cap.
I am honored to be named a champion of early care and education!
Thank you for this honor, @Ready_Louisiana!

Louisiana’s school districts consistently land at the bottom of all the national rankings even though we outspend most of our neighbors on our cost per student. We need financial transparency to make sure our tax dollars are being spent where they are supposed to. #lalege

We need to hold schools accountable for the billions of dollars they receive in federal funds. HB 38 is a no-brainer and we are proud to support it. #lalege

Even though employers are begging for workers and promising great pay, employees aren't showing up to take their jobs. Businesses should compete with other businesses, not the federal government and the power of the printing press. Read more here: #lalege pelicanpolicy.org/its-time-f…

94% of Louisianans agree that we need financial transparency in our schools. Its time to open the books and improve our education system to set Louisiana’s children up for a bright future. #lalege pelicanpolicy.org/poll-shows…
I do not think that questions about sexual harassment are inappropriate. I am demanding that we know how much we’re investing to solve this problem. #lalege #lagov
.@RickEdmondsLA says he wants to go back to budget items 'because that's what we're assigned to do.' Isn't clear whether he thinks questions about sexual harassment scandal are inappropriate #lagov #lalege
